He's on vacation and this guy is terrible. I think I'd rather let Moreland do PBP.

Let's not say anything we're going to regret.

Ellett is pretty bad though, I was in the car for the Navarro collision and it was painful listening to him add details every 3 minutes while Keith filled the dead air with "at this point" ramblings. I'm not sure why Sirott wouldn't get these games.

Ah, that's how you spell it. Yes, that's him.

I understand Pat has the tenure to do what he wants, but I'm surprised they let him take vacation during the season for non emergencies/sicknesses/2-3 day things like weddings/graduations/etc. Seems like he has plenty of time during the offseason to vacation. But again Pat is great, the team sucks, so let him do whatever the [expletive] he wants.

I'd probably feel differently if it were actually my job, but speaking as someone whose life goal through college was to do basically exactly what Pat does, it's hard to see a circumstance where I'd take off rather than call a baseball game on the radio.

Like any job, once you've established your value it's pretty easy to get time off. I imagine it is a priority for him when he negotiates his deal. He's not an up and comer or trying to impress his employer, or next employer.

Peter King still bitches about a job that allows him months of vacation and millions in compensation, cutting into his time off.

I really wish they let Castro hit somewhere between 1-3 the rest of the season and stop hitting him all over the lineup. I understand this likely has little impact on him but there's no reason to not make sure he's getting the most ab's by hitting him in the top 3 in the lineup the rest of the way.

Samardzija xFIP for today at the moment: 2.91

ERA: 21.60

if only the cubs could just get the outcomes to games that they philosophically deserve...

Maybe today's massive ERA bump will help with this winter's extension talks? Really reaching for a bright spot here, you guys.

Or at least a haircut

You really need to stop with this trolling. It's dumb as hell and is making you look like a moron.

IMO, Pat Hughes has become borderline brutal to listen to. Between his gross overreactions to medium deep fly balls and his odd excitement when things go well for the other team, he's not very good any more.

I still love him.

But yeah his overreactions have been getting worse for years. Since like 2007.

I kinda feel the same way; he needs someone as catastrophically bad as Santo to play off of. Moreland is just too mediocre.

Yeah. I've mentioned it before but I pretty much agree. Pat is really professional and everything but I'm just not a big fan.
