3 appearances and 7 innings pitched is a pretty small sample size to read too much into, but nothing looks glaringly wrong to me. He's given up 1 XBH, 2 BBs and 10 Ks in those combined 7 innings. I'm sure knowing that the current organization you're pitching for is probably not the one you're going to be pitching for in a few weeks had to be somewhat distracting.

He was on the Rangers' 40-man roster, so they can't just add him as a PTBNL at any time. I don't know how it works procedurally though, if they just let other teams know that this is a PTBNL so that he doesn't get claimed by anyone else before it gets to the Cubs.

in this trade, the Cubs picked up 2 pitchers in the top-10 in all of the minors for K% - Edwards #3 (33.5%) & Ramirez #8 (30.5%)

And a guy that could be the no. 3 or 4 starter in the rotation next year. Grimm's turned it around after a rocky couple starts in Iowa.
