I don't know; I have a nagging suspicion it's the FO enamored with "their guy" as opposed to him being the cornerstone at 1B we all want (and really kinda need) him to be. I'm a baseball idiot, so there's not much to it beyond how I don't like his offensive splits and I'm not all that convinced that as much of last year can be chalked up to bad luck as some have argued. That said, I always love to be horribly, horribly wrong with these sort of these things.

OK. That's fair. I think Rizzo is good and will be a big part of our lineup and a reason why our team is hopefully good in the future. (I know, way to go out on the ledge). Now, I do think it might have to be Baez and Bryant that become the superstars, the guys in the middle of the order who hit 35 homers a year. Because I'm not sure Rizzo is going to be that guy.

But damn, a Baez, Bryant, Rizzo 3-4-5 could be awesome.

This seems reasonable. He can play the DLee role to Baez and Bryant being Alou and Sosa. Now we just need one of the 3B to be decent along with Castro and they're most of the way there.

Oh, and I'd go cherub like on Rizzo's face.

I lusted after his oafish bat (come on, he was a Cuban hitting god, but it was never meant to be), not his oafish appearance.

Soler seems pretty hunky, though he's apparently got mouth-breather syndrome.

Rizzo, meanwhile, looks like the bastard son of Robert Z'Dar.

I lol'd

Me to, it's suprising the amount of laughs I get here, it's quotes like this and the animated gifs

You mean Aramis and Sosa. Alou kind of sucked or was hurt.

Alou was a badass in '04.

Yeah, but Alou is a perfect example of how I'm an idiot when it comes to this game; I adored ol' Pee Hands despite not being all that impressive with the Cubs except for '04, and yet I will always resent Rizzo for some reason even if he becomes amazing.

I think Beane regrets signing Cespedes for that money in retrospect. And I'm a big Cespedes fan.

What? Why?

Yeah, while he hasn't been a star by any stretch, he's been worth what they're paying him, for sure. It's not like he's making $20MM a year.

Maybe he thinks Beane feels he could have gotten more than 5 WAR out of the 18MM they've paid him so far. He might be right, but it's probably not something that's haunted him thus far.

Last year was kind of sparse though, wasn't it? Looks like he's off to a good start this year.
