It's so great to check on the minors every day

Maybe not safe for work but probably is

Uhhh...

Coming into 2013 it was thought Alcantara was much more dangerous as a lefty batting against RHP and made weaker contact as a righty vs. LHP; this year he has proven that to be false. As the chart above shows his BA is over 100 points higher as a lefty vs. LHP this season with a similarly great 100-point gap in ISO.

The chart...

So not only did he say that he was thought to be a better lefty hitter vs RHP, but he then says it's false, despite the chart showing it's true, and then says he's been great as a lefty vs. LHP "As the chart above shows" and the chart shows no such statistic

On Fangraphs, if you hover over the Search box, they'll show you a list of the top 10 most searched players in major and minor league baseball.

This morning, the Cubs had 9 of the 10 for the minor leagues.

1. Russell

2. Bryant

3. Baez

Seriously, WGN/CSN should have live look ins every time one of the Cubs top 10 prospects comes up to bat during their broadcasts. Or maybe they should just broadcast Iowa and Tennessee games with live look ins every time Rizzo and Castro come up or Arrieta is on the mound.

I just realized that it's entirely possible that Russell and Soler will join Alcantara, Baez, and Bryant (and Manny) in Iowa at some point this year.

and all of them with the big club at some point next year, possibly some of them as groups

They should roll them out like they did the throwback jerseys and era-centric promotions this year. A new call-up for every homestand with pre-game festivities and ceremonies that invite every player that once wore their uniform number (excluding Sammy Sosa of course).

So it seems like everyone kinda projects Bryant to RF if/when he moves off of 3rd, but I'd put big money on it actually being LF. I think once he makes that switch we will want it to be as seamless as possible and having him remaining on the same side of the field he's always played on, believe it or not, will cut down the adjustment period.

His arm could play in RF - sure, but that's also where we've always played Soler, who I am hoping stays healthy enough to get a call up and win the spot going into next year.

So, by ASB 2016 :beg: :

CF Alcantara/Almora

SS Russell

LF Bryant

1B Rizzo

2B Baez

RF Soler

3B Castro

C Castillo/Schwarber/other

He played RF in college, so he might be more comfortable there than LF. More importantly though, he'll beat Soler to the majors so he'll likely get the first shot at the position higher on the defensive spectrum (RF instead of LF).
