Me? I love Purdue basketball, I just find its discussion dreadfully boring.

KU snagged Kelly Oubre over UK and others today. Awesome pickup.

My nephew plays for McKendree, they are playing against Illinois in Champaign tonight. Just reveived a text that it was tied at 35-35. Really?

McKendree is a D2 school that finished last in their conference last season.

Means nothing I realize, but McKendree was awful last year.

We return three players. It's going to be a weird year, I think.

IU should fall into that weird year category as well. I Have no idea who is going to score.

While I love what John Groce has done with recruiting so far, this weekend is the biggest for Illinois since Eric Gordon was on campus. That one didn't turn out so well. Hopefully he can make this a tough decision for Cliff. If he could win this recruitment I really think we are set up well to clean house on the '15 class. Fingers crossed.

Also a pretty big week for IU recruiting. James Blackmon is visiting this weekend and apparently Jaquan Lyle is as well.

I still think Blackmon is headed to UK and this is just a courtesy visit, but I guess it is better than no visit at all. Lyle popping up back on the radar has been a bit of a surprise, curious to see what happens there.

Devin Robinson, a 5 star from Virginia is announcing on Wednesday. His final 4 are IU, ND, Florida, and Oklahoma State. He is from the same town as fellow 2014 recruit Robert Johnson.

Lyle is a stud that no one seemingly wants. Is it grades/qualifying issues or behavior?

It's his immaturity more than anything. He pouts on the court, whines/complains to officials constantly when things don't go well, visibly becomes upset with teammates, stops playing hard, etc. This has carried over to his recruitment (decommitting from Louisville, which was a good fit, as an example). He's also had way too many voices in his camp recruitment-wise (and a number of voices that should not be there).

He is an outstanding player though.

Sheehey should lead the team in scoring. Yogi averaged 7 last year, double digits shouldn't be that hard. Then its freshmen and Hollowell. Dont see Perea as a scorer. They'll score plenty if they can get out and run.

I think there's going to be some serious growing pains/adjustments/frustration early in the year, but there's a chance to be pretty good later on.

That's what I'm thinking as well. So far Egwu has looked great, hopefully he improved again. But besides him, I'm not sure where scoring will come from early. Hopefully rice.

Was Blackmon the decommit?

Yeah. He's going to UK though. I know Michigan is sort of also in the running and IU was given a late official visit but pretty much everyone believes he's going to UK.

Rice can score. Abrams can, Hill and Nunn can. I think we'll be better

I know the last two will, just think it might take half a season until they really start to with consistency.

He's one of them. Both he and Trey Lyles decommitted from IU. The Lyles business is shady; Blackmon is just par for the course for players committing as freshman.

Decommitting has been a trend for the Class of 2014 in Indiana.

I may be in the minority, but I don't expect Sheehey to lead IU in scoring. His scoring ability as a go-to player is limited; he is not really someone to create his own shot or throw the ball to at the end of shot clocks. I expect Ferrell or Vonleh (a player I've barely seen and am merely going on reputation) to lead IU in points. Hollowell would not entirely shock me either, he has the tools to do so (or he could lazily be a relative non-factor).

heard from someone who is fairly well connected that cliff is pretty much a lock for kansas, but the illinois loyalty insider types still seem confident, so who knows.
