Illinois' inability to either be prepared to shoot when they catch or their unwillingness to shoot when they catch is disturbing. I just want to have a couple guys who can actually shoot and make decent decisions most of the time. This is just painful to watch most of the time. At least the Freshmen seem to be progressing and getting more PT.

Pretty sure Rice just got away with one.

Nebraska is 11th in the Big Ten in FT shooting. They are 19-21 today.

The joker with 40 points has also traveled every time he's done that stupid spin move and it hasn't been called once.

And yes, the record for most shots missed inside 5 feet went down weeks ago.

Doesn't help the refs quit blowing the whistle on Nebraska as soon as UI hit the bonus.

I've seen some rumblings on my FBook from Hoosier fans that seem to be fed up with Crean. How serious is this? Is next year a huge year for him in your opinions?

His contract buy-out remains huge. So, for practical purposes, I'm not sure it matters. But things could become very difficult for him next year fan-base wise (and next year figures to be worse, in my opinion, considering Vonleh will be an early entry and the frontcourt will be basically vacant). I think that's the biggest problem--this year was always going to be a rebuilding type year, but without a frontcourt there's nothing being built towards. Who knew that recruiting might become the issue?

I actually don't see them being much worse next year. They aren't very good this year. And I can see a huge improvement from a couple guys (mainly Troy Williams). Still won't be a good enough team, though.

IU is about to lose a lottery-pick big man, a player that is one of the most talented guys to wear an IU uniform in years (I might even assert since the early 80s). Without him, their frontcourt will be Hanner Perea (maybe), Devin Davis (tweener), Jeremy Hollowell (not really even a tweener, maybe a stretch-four), and ??? (guessing they'll pick up some late recruit or fifth-year transfer). They are going to get brutalized inside.

I will be absolutely shocked if Hollowell is on this team next year. Hell, he almost left after last year.

Next year's roster could look a LOT different than this year's, even with only 2 seniors and Vonleh as expected departures.

Yes, I suspect you will be correct about the first point; just did not want to get into transfer speculation.

I agree . . . but counting on Spring recruits and one-year transfers to fill large voids is a dangerous game. It's possible there will be a deus ex machina to fix the frontcourt, but I find it unlikely. And, either way, it's no way to run a program.

So it's assumed Vonleh is gone? I figured as much but hadn't heard anything regarding it. He's a beast, I would love him on the Bulls but they apparently want to win games and won't pick high enough to snag him.

It's assumed. Hard to imagine why he'd stay.

Totally agree that they will get crushed inside next year. I do wonder how loud the dissent will become. I guess, as usual for Crean, a lot depends upon next year's recruiting.

Will Oklahoma State make the tournament this year? All they do is lose.

Crazy how far they fell. I thought they were a national championship contender in the early season.

Nice to play poorly for most of a game and still win by 12 over a top 100 team on the road.

Do you think we're going to the tournament yet?

Solid 11 seed.

I think that's the 4th PSU game I've seen this season, and I have no idea how they ever keep games close or win. They play some of the ugliest basketball I've ever seen.

If Marshall had stuck around, they'd be decent. The Big Ten really has no gimmies.
