The Cubs definitely thought he was done this spring if they risked losing him for a middling utility IF. The spring velocity reports were not pretty.

Gregg signed a minor league deal.

Loe is actually a pretty nice pickup for free and in season. Good control and okay K rate for a reliever. Performance wise he's basically Shawn Camp.
