Both home teams lose in the championship round, and both shut out in the 2nd half.

I doubt that's happened before. So much for home field advantage.

Terrell Suggs is hilarious.

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap1000000128892/article/terrell-suggs-to-patriots-have-fun-at-the-pro-bowl

"We came. We saw. We conquered," Suggs said, via Dan Wetzel of Yahoo! Sports, among other reporters, after the Ravens' AFC Championship Game victory over the New England Patriots. "Shut them out in the second half. Tell them to have fun at the Pro Bowl. Arrogant (expletives)."

Suggs was just getting started.

"These are the most arrogant pricks in the world, starting with (coach Bill) Belichick on down," Suggs said.

We also enjoyed: "That's funny, ever since Spygate they haven't been able to win."

After a few minutes, Suggs gained some perspective.

"All B.S. aside, they are a hell of a ballclub," Suggs said. "... They have the right to be arrogant."

Is the media going to criticize Tom Brady for blowing halftime lead in the playoffs at home as a 7+ point favorite or does that only apply to Peyton Manning?

Well considering that its the first time Tom Brady has every blown a halftime lead at home and lost, I think they can give him a pass this time. 67-1 now with a halftime lead at home.

But think of the crap Peyton was getting this year after his defense allowed a desperation hail mary miracle TD at the end of the game to go to OT.

So, do we have predictions?

I think it's a no brainer....Ravens.

The +4 or whatever is only gravy, been tailing this team for a while now.

Soooooooooo, allegedly, Ray Lewis took/received deer antler-velvet extract from a male stripper (no seriously) to recover from his tricep injury and it's a banned substance, SI claims.

Someone from something called S.W.A.T.S. says they have the phone call recorded of him asking how to use it/asking for the dude to send it to him.

is it just me, or is the ray lewis-obstructor-of-justice-or-murderer buzz more prominent now then 12 years ago. i seriously thought that i was the only guy who remembered that [expletive] and hated him for it.

He's just been so "look at me" since his return to play (even more than usual), and every Ravens game has been about him, and now his "trick of the devil" comments about the PED accusations, he's just especially annoying right now.

I am really starting to feel like more than 90% of sports media types are completely worthless. Who does Reilly think he is? This is none of his business and has no place being brought up during Super Bowl week.

http://espn.go.com/espn/story/_/id/8897116/colin-kaepernick-birth-mom

For context Rae is Reilly's adopted daughter.

"Is that how you feel?" I asked Kaepernick on Tuesday at Super Bowl media day. "That it would be disrespectful to meet with your birth mother?"

"No," Kaepernick said. "It's not really a respect thing. It's just -- that's my family. That's it."

"But aren't you curious?"

"No."

That's odd, since many adopted kids are crazy curious about their birth parents, and their adopted ones.

"Why don't I look like you?" Rae would ask me. Finally, when she was 11, we flew to Korea and met the birth mom in what turned out to be a cloak-and-dagger adventure that I wrote about for Time magazine. Turned out the birth mother was a terrified 18-year-old girl when she gave Rae up. She didn't even tell her parents, just ran away to the city for three months.

But Colin Kaepernick never asked those questions. Not even when he was playing in a video arcade as a little boy, with his mother standing nearby, and a woman sneered, "People shouldn't just leave their kids in here all alone." Not even when he'd be standing next to his parents as they all checked into a hotel, only to have the clerk look at him and say, "And how can I help you, young man?"

Maybe Colin did ask those questions but just didn't want to discuss them with you during Super Bowl week, because it's none of your business. I hate when people infer and assume and then judge based on those assumptions.

The Kaepernicks have told Colin they'd have no problem with him speaking to Russo. They even met with her recently without Colin. But Colin hasn't budged on the issue. One of his friends told Yahoo! Sports that Colin would think it's "treasonous" to meet with Russo.

But it's not. It's healthy. It's healing. It's natural.

More than that, it's important. When that 11-year-old version of Rae finally got to meet her birth mother, even though it was only for 20 minutes, she glowed. Her roots were no longer a mystery. She finally knew where she came from.

No two instances are the same. The guy likes his family and doesn't want to do anything to mess up a good thing. Sure, it's likely nothing negative will come of it but let him decide.

I don't have a problem with Reilly doing that type of a "fluff" piece on Kaepernick and pointing out that he's adopted, doesn't know his birth parents and doesn't really want to and why, but then to basically criticize him for not wanting to know is pretty bad.

That read like Reilly was trying to be an amateur psychologist and was treating Kaepernick like there was something wrong with him. Really weird.

You should. That crap should be banished from every sports media outlet. It's awful awful garbage.

I don't read it or watch that stuff when it's on TV, but if the player grants the interview then it would seem he's willing to talk about it - and some like talking about it. It's dumb, but some people like that "human interest" type angle.

It's the critical, admonishing tone that Reilly took in the article that I have a real problem with. That's garbage.
