Game 12 - Seattle Seahawks @ BEARS - 12 PM - Louis on IR :(

The Bears really like Louis. I could see them bringing him back for cheap once he passes his physical probably in August/Sept. If Carimi is solid at RG just gives u more options. Get linemen playing well and then figure out where to put them.

I still find it hard to believe that Chris Williams is worse than most of the guys they have played this year.

He's Tice's Greg Olsen

I would be comfortable with Edwin Williams starting guard at the beginning of the year and putting Louis on IR and then activating him as soon as the new rule permits. I'm also admittedly excited to see if Carimi could be a dominant guard. It makes a lot of sense that he would excell there. We hear so much about his great run blocking and he has struggled big time when isolated against a speed rusher.

Yeah, I've been real disappointed with Carimi getting off the ball so slow. That should be helped at RG considering he won't be dealing with guys with near WR speed in a ton of open space opposite him.

Still even if Carimi is a dominant guard over the next 5+ weeks, having Edwin start at LG and even having Louis still on the roster means the Bears have done nothing at the guard position. Of course, if that means they brought in 2 tackles, I'd be OK with that, I guess....but I don't think that's awfully realistic. I'd still rather go out and get a G and T, hope for the best with Louis, and best case scenario you have decent options like Williams and Louis on the bench. Carimi at RG, RT, or swing OT. Webb either the swing OT or the weak link on the OL, who hopefully can be hidden with good play at LG, RG, and the other T position.

Hooray RT: @ChicagoBears: LM: NFL announces #Bears games Dec. 9 at #Vikings and Dec. 16 at home vs. #Packers will both remain at noon

Thank God, the Bears have played in primetime enough this year. This likely means that the Bears won't be playing at night the rest of the season unless Detroit inexplicably turns their season around and is guaranteed a playoff spot with a victory in week 17. The NFL likes to schedule games like that in week 17, ere none of the day's action matters except for whether that team wins or loses.

I figured one of those games would be 4:25 (3:25) at the least. Didn't expect either to be flexed to Sunday night.

I can't wait for the NFL to NOT suspend Allen. Nevermind he left his feet and went helmet-to-helmet. I'm sure he'll get a slap on the wrist and a stern talking to

Matt Schaub on Suh's hit:

"You don't want a player like that. The stuff that he stands for and the type of player he is, that's not Houston Texan worthy," Schaub said. "That's not what we're about as a football team, as individuals, collectively as a group, we're not that type of person."

Sure thing, Matt.

The Green Bay week is a mess TV wise. The Thursday night game and Monday night games are both awful. Two of the better games of the week are 1:00 Fox games (Giants at Atlanta, Green Bay at Chicago). Even Tampa Bay at New Orleans is interesting. But with CBS having the doubleheader that week and the Sunday Night game already being a great one, those games have nowhere to move. Instead, Pittsburgh and Dallas might stay in that prime 4:25 slot, or it might be changed to Denver and Baltimore (which is probably as good as those Fox games).

Unlike the GB game, the Minnesota game had a chance of moving, but it wasn't clearly better than either of the slots it could have moved to (Saints at Giants, Lions at Packers). So no reason to bump either of those games back to 1:00 just to replace it with a roughly comparable game.

I have thought for years that Cutler is basically a version of Brett Favre as a player, but without the attention whoring. ESPN should love him. In fact, there was a play yesterday where cutler was being sacked and on the way down just whipped the ball forward to Forte. I think all it did was get them back to the line of scrimmage. If that was Favre, Berman would have gone on and on about "Brett just having fun out there." Of course Favre would have slapped the DT's ass on his way back to the huddle... which would have added to the fun I guess.

I'm convinced that these days you need to do a ton of TV ads in order to be loved. I think a prime example of this is Aaron Rodgers, which from what I can tell, is actually kinda anti-social/thin skinned in his private life and yet a hero in the media because he plays well for the Packers and does the discount double check.

Yeah. I would have loved to have seen the difference in reaction if Cutler had been the one complaining about the 60 minutes interview or putting blame on the practice squad for not preparing the starters enough.

Seriously. He came off as a huge weirdo on 60 minutes. Seemed like he hates being around fans.

Jay Cutler is easiest my favorite Chicago athlete right now; nobody else even comes close.

yeah, there's never really been anyone like him before. mcmahon comes closest, but he wasn't nearly as good and was less subtle with the media.

jay cutler is a zombie-fighter

Yup, he checks all the favorite athlete boxes:

-Really good yet somehow underrated

-Gets the meatball faction all worked up

-Openly disdains the media.

Much like Aramis before him :swoon:

Cutler in no way fits ESPN's profile. The only way they'll give him serious positive coverage is if he wins a Super Bowl, and that's because they would be forced to. Until then, expect more of the same. Frankly, it's a badge of honor to be panned by the likes of Jackson and Carter, IMHO. Throw Bradshaw into the same bucket.

That deadspin article is fantastic, BTW.

People are stupid. Bears lost 5 straight games last year without Cutler. They got blown out last week without him. Granted, the Vikings at home is not the 49ers on the road, but it was the difference between looking like a legit NFL offense with Cutler and looking like Navy when the option isn't working, without him.

Cutler could win a Superbowl and still won't get props. If he has a Roethlisberger type game, it was the defense that got him a ring (ala Dilfer). If he has a Montana like game winning drive, he should have put the game away earlier or the opposing defense failed to make a play late. The only way Cutler gets his props is if the Bears win the Superbowl 51-48 and Cutler throws for 450 yards, 6 TDs, and gets carried down the field after every play ala Leftwich at Marshall because he has a broken leg.

I have a Cutler McFarlane figure on my desk. I've received 2 comments on it. First was, "Cutler!" shaking his head "He's a wuss." Next was, "Wow is that Cutler? Were they sold out of everybody else?"

Granted this is Pittsburgh where they don't know anything other than the Steelers and can't fathom why they don't win every superbowl, but are people seriously this stupid? He tore his MCL and continued to play the rest of the half. He broke his thumb last year and played another series to end the game. He took an illegal shot to the face and stayed on the field. This is not a 6'5", 260lb QB. This is not Brady or Manning in his prime sitting in the pocket all day. Dude has gotten sacked and hit more than any QB in the last 4 years. He's missed 2 games (and 1/2 of 3 others) from the 139 sacks he's had to deal with in the last 4 years. The other time he missed was trying to make a tackle on an INT. He's played with [expletive] at WR until this year. The TE position has been incompetent for the most part of his 4 years here.

And the 2nd guy is a Browns fan. Seriously? He wouldn't know a good QB, well kinda like Bears fans didn't until 3 1/2 years ago. When/If the Bears win a Superbowl with Cutler, it will be the sweetest championship in my sports life. Sweeter than Payton finally getting his ring. Sweeter than Jordan finally getting one to cement his career as the greatest ever. Sweeter than the Cu......nevermind.

The cutler national press has changed a lot this week. I even read a cutler for MVP article(which is absurd). Tom Jackson is the silly one this week with the 'cutler persona stereotype'

Other teams aren't going to risk $ on an injured Louis unless he doesn't get an offer. He is a Bear. Chris spencer Sox, lets see Edwin Williams. Carmi at Rg is interesting, he is a run blocker and that's where you put the big guys. Louis can play LG with his size and mobility. He is not a RG typical mauler. He is athletic.

Brandon Marshall is a beast! Bears need Jeffery on the other side. I like Bennett but he is more of a slot guy and damn good slot guy!
