those replies...were in response to what i first posted about the yahoo guy's article

do you want some kind of a tutorial on how to read a message board or something?

lol, I could ask the same of you. Those replies AGREED WITH YOU. And you're still arguing. For some reason.

The words you were accused of putting in someone's mouth was because you act like people on this message board made the argument that Cutler should be MVP. They did not.

i wasn't even doing that, though; i ended up only debating the merits of advanced stats for football, and Cutler's individual effect on singular games after that...the argument stopped being "i don't see Cutler as the MVP" really quick

He's not arguing with anyone here about Cutler's MVP candidacy, as far as I can tell...

Ok, well you and Jersey were arguing about individual Cutler games...that's what brought up the advanced stats. Sure there was some advanced stats discussion, but then you brought up Cutler specifically not being in that top 51 article. I'm not sure why you mentioned that if you weren't still on the MVP discussion.

Not that anyone is arguing that he should win it, but I see the Cutler for MVP talk as just a more realistic version of last years "Peyton should win the MVP because the colts are 0-13 without him" talk. Talking heads brought it up last year but they were never going to actually vote for a player that didn't play--and they aren't going to vote for cutler either. I think people are just finally realizing that, hey, Cutler must actually be pretty good when you look at the trainwreck the offense is without him.

Also, in response to the Detroit game not being a good one for cutler: The offense looked a lot better before cutler took the hit from Suh. Afterwards, it didn't look like he could throw as well and he even admitted that they weren't really running the offense like normal during the second half. They basically were just running out the clock. Yes, the defense should get a ton of credit for allowing them to do that, but Cutler looked good early if I remember correctly.

it was just a more general purpose comment speaking to his individual performance, since jersey was saying (loosely paraphrasing with exaggerated effect) stats aren't to be trusted in football; if i had access to their stats/ratings, anything more definitive than "not top-51", i'd have shared it for the sake of discussion

but whatever, Charles Tillman for MVP, i'll gladly read an article about that

Jeffery, Hester, Briggs, Tillman, and Spencer all missed practice. I believe Forte was limited. Carimi is the starting RG this week. James Brown apparently getting some looks too.

Why does it feel like the Bears play Seattle every year?

Because they do. Played every year since 2006 except 2008, and they made up for it by playing twice in 2006 and 2010 (playoffs).

I have to believe Forte practicing on Wednesday, even though limited, has to be a good sign for his availability. Also the fact that we didn't make a corresponding RB roster move like last time.

Yes, I am no longer worried about Forte's situation. He'll be back soon enough, and Bush can pick up the slack for a week if need be.

Also, from a far, I agree with the comments on Cutler not getting any positive national attention. A shame considering how good he is. I can relate to the misery as a west coast person my whole life, many of the stars out here are left with the same treatment, simply based on ignorance.

Name one.

oldie but Steve Largent.

To be clear not talking just about Seahawks and their lack of media exposure.

That was what I was going on about too. I'm confused by the whole sequence.

Are you kidding me? Steve Largent received Jay Cutler treatment? You're delusional.
