Bears have signed G/C Andre Gurode to the active roster, waived DT Amobi Okoye.

Per Rotoworld:

Bears signed C/G Andre Gurode.

Gurode takes the roster spot of DT Amobi Okoye, who was waived in a corresponding move. A 127-game starter with the Cowboys and Ravens, Gurode will add much-needed depth on the interior with RG Lance Louis (torn ACL) out and G/C Chris Spencer battling a knee injury of his own.

He's not any good anymore but he was jobless for a reason

I don't know that anyone good actually claims Babin. If you do, gotta pay him 1.6Mil for 5 games this year, and he's due 4.3Mil next year. Maybe a bad team with a lot of cap space goes after him that needs a pass rusher (Jax?). But the playoff bound teams that could really use him (ATL, NE, Baltimore, maybe NO, MIN, TB) don't really have the available cap space this year (the 1.6Mil) to claim him. I think he gets thru waivers and has his pick of the team he wants to play for. And I can only assume that would be New England, since they are a 4-3 team which gives them the edge over Baltimore.

I'm torn. On the one hand, it's really stupid that ADD meds wind up being banned. On the other, ADD meds really make people perform better. While I'm anti-steroid, I find myself pro-ADD drug

Don't be conflicted. They're lying about it being ADD meds anyway.

why wouldn't he want to play for the bears?

Lot of depth at DE. Goes to NE and he can be "the guy" and potentially get another big contract if he puts up numbers.

I even read a cutler for MVP article(which is absurd).

Your face is absurd.

What?

Your mouth is so absurd diarrhea comes out of it all the time and your fingers are a bitch to your mouth.

Not that they are big deals, but I think the signing of Aaron Curry and Gurode are pretty shrewd deals. Glad to see our GM at least somewhat active and on the look out talent whenever he can (at least regarding Curry, Gurode is more of a desperation move)

Really hope the Seahawks corners don't have their suspensions delayed, there doesn't seem to be any down side to making appeals even if blatantly guilty, wouldn't you automatically do this in every case to buy yourself a few games in the interim?

Aaron Curry?

Far as I can tell only brought in for a workout. Don't see that he signed

Woops thought I heard it was more finalized than that. Are the Bears at a full 53 man roster now with the Gurode signing?

No, actually have an open spot. Replaced Rachal with James Brown. Cut Okoye, signed Gurode. Never made an addition to the roster with Lance Louis going on IR. Think they are waiting to see what happens tomorrow with Forte/Hester as far as practice goes. Could see a WR added to the roster from the P-squad (Joe Anderson) or a RB added for a week or 2 if Forte has to miss time.

Matt Schaub on Suh's hit:

"You don't want a player like that. The stuff that he stands for and the type of player he is, that's not Houston Texan worthy," Schaub said. "That's not what we're about as a football team, as individuals, collectively as a group, we're not that type of person."

Sure thing, Matt.

Okay resident Seahawk fan back for more punishment. Nothing good ever comes from going to Chicago for the Seahawks and based on the 4th quarter in Miami this past week, the Bears should be favored by 7 at least. For those betting, take the 3.5 now before it gets upped. That would be the lock of the season. The Seahawks OLine is in just as bad shape and have 2 players in top five penalties. Lynch has had 2 subpar games and the D-Line that looked great in the 1st half of the dreaded Packer game hasnt been the same since.

Anyhow, enough of my negativity and doom & gloom. Russell Wilson has had a great 6 games. 1st rookie ever to post 3 straight 125 plus rating games and he is finally getting the chance to develop chemistry with Rice & Tate. Backup RB Turbin is looking solid as 3rd down back and pass cathing threat. Miller is finally back in play as a TE and Robinson is the best FB in the league. Bobby Wagner is playing out of his mind and Earl Thomas seems to have woken up (the phantom roughing the passer last week seems to have fired up the D too).

If Browner & Sherman are gone, and old Trufant and a 3rd game back but solid Walter Thurmond are the starters. Not great but still manageable. No depth there though anymore. Definitely a story to watch closely.

The Seahawks do not play well on the road and are horrible at Soldier Field. However, perhaps the letdown in Miami was one of them looking ahead to this game, who knows. Hopefully it will be a good game to watch.

As a side note, I read the 1st 5 pages before posting and saw the Allen hit on Louis. Is that where the injury happened? The play looks awfully similar to the Golden Tate hit that he was fined for earlier this year. Launching at a player but not helmet to helmet. Am I wrong with that perception, not seeing any other angles of this hit?

Also, from a far, I agree with the comments on Cutler not getting any positive national attention. A shame considering how good he is. I can relate to the misery as a west coast person my whole life, many of the stars out here are left with the same treatment, simply based on ignorance.
