Well, step one of Charlie Weis's crazy JUCO experiment went well. All twenty (TWENTY!) of our juco recruits made it on to campus, and only one was arrested for robbing a drug dealer and was subsequently dismissed. That has to be some kind of record. Hopefully they can fill some holes and provide some depth.

Damn. My joke was going to be that it was lucky that the transfer dealing the drugs went free.

I just love snood's optimism. These guys might provide some depth. But they won't crack the starting lineup for this team. :)

Oh, plenty will start ("fill some holes.") One's already a team captain.

Team Captain? Presumably the Robin Hood wannabe.

Vanderbilt wide receiver Chris Boyd has been indicted following an alleged rape that has already led to the dismissal of four players.

Boyd has been suspended pending further review of the situation. With less than two weeks before the Commodores’ season opener against Ole Miss, the status of Vandy’s second-leading receiver is certainly in doubt.

Boyd caught 50 passes for 774 yards and five touchdowns last season.

I'm posting the Week 1 thread, so feel free to transition talk of issues affecting Week 1 to that one if you like.

Finally the SEC will accept Vandy as one of their own.

The SEC laid out their scheduling guidelines today. The conference stuff will remain the same(8 games, 6 division, one permanent cross-division), but starting in 2016, one non-con game will be required to be against an ACC/Big 12/Big 10/Pac 12 opponent. For reference, there's 4 teams this year(both Mississippi schools, Vanderbilt, and aTm) that don't meet the non-con threshold this year.

Illinois and Indiana will appreciate the southern road trips I'm sure

Charlie Weis loves the Southeast in the fall, I hear.

So since SEC teams refuse to schedule road games against good teams, how will they meet this mandate if the other conferences tell them to [expletive] off?
