I'm going to assume that since that was that account's only tweet, Te'o accidentally tweeted to a non-existent account a long time ago, somebody found it and created the account? Not an expert at Twitter, but you would think she would have more than one tweet.

Only part that doesn't add up is he was tight with the Californian guy who was behind the fake identity. Hardest part of keeping this story straight in my head is all the unspellable Samoan names. Either Teo had a falling out with that guy causing him to plot revenge, they went in on the story together to generate hype, or they're gay.
