Ironic that a Michigan fan would accuse another fan base of being smug.

i encountered way too many bro'd out catholic guys at u of i with giant crucifix tattoos and deep affection for notre dame football and boondock saints for me to ever root for notre dame. i'll gladly root for the devil i've never met.

Me too and I was there maybe 20 years earlier. However, my 104 year old Grandfather is a ND Alum so they get a pass for his sake this year

I think I said smug, believe it or not I hate Michigan.

With Miami self-imposing another bowl ban, Georgia Tech will play in the ACC title game, probably at 6-6. I legitimately can't believe that craptastic team won its division.

Tedford's gone

A sad day for the rest of the Pac-12.

PSU with a chance for 8 wins. Kind of amazing

Heard one analyst say that O'Brien won't be as negatively affects by scholarship losses as other coaches as he's used to a smaller roster size in the NFL. Not sure if I bye it, but its a interesting theory

Only amazing bc they lost to Ohio and UVA. Big x is pathetic this year. Has PSU beat a good team yet?

The analyst who said that is stupid. It's not an interesting theory. It's just dumb.

Correct, they shouldn't have lost to either of those teams. But they then won 5 straight.

I only say "amazing" because everyone was predicting they'd be 2-10 every year for a decade

Is Northwestern good? Their Big Ten schedule has been pretty weak (no UM or MSU), but the only two conference losses are vs. OSU and @ Nebraska.

I don't think it's that stupid. If you're used to managing a 54 man roster, you're probably less likely to freak out about not being able to have 3 full-scholarship punters on your team.

I was discussing this with a coworker today and we disagreed on what would happen. In the fairly unlikely hypothetical where:

-Notre Dame loses to USC

-Stanford loses to UCLA

-Oregon beats Oregon St and UCLA

-Florida beats FSU

Who meets the winner of Bama-Georgia in the title game? I said I thought Oregon would while my coworker said Florida would. This was not about who deserved it more, rather who the voters/computers would make No. 2.

I'd say Oregon, but it will be pretty close. The majority of voters have Oregon ahead right now, and I don't see them changing their mind if that scenario happens. I also think there will be some push to not have another all SEC title game if the teams are close.

The majority of computers will likely have Florida ahead. The thing to watch out for in that scenario is if Notre Dame ends up between Florida and Oregon in some of the computers. That may be enough for Florida to overcome the voter advantage. But I input some of those results into Colley's formula, and it looks likely that he would have Oregon having a slim margin over ND in that scenario.

I know I'm a homer and think Manziel should be an easy Heisman winner, but to refuse to include him on your ballot at all is just asinine.

@MadDogUnleashed: I am not voting for Manziel for the Heisman under no circumstances. Right now, in some order, I would probably vote Te'o, Lee & McCarron.

Read this somewhere about Manziel in his 3 biggest games this year:

Florida at TAMU - 23/30 for 177 yards with 0 TDs 0 INTs in a 20-17 loss.

LSU at TAMU - 29/56 for 276 yards with 0 TDs 3 INTs in a 24-19 loss.

Alabama @Tuscaloosa - 24/31 for 253 yards with 2 TDs 0 INTs in a 29-24 win.

Wisconsin will probably end up at 4-4 in the conference and 7-5 overall, yet has already won its division thanks to Penn State and Ohio State being ineligible.

I know the feeling.

The Florida game was the first game of his college career. In the LSU game, 2 of the 3 INT's were not on him. One when right through the hands of his WR and was tipped up for grabs. He also had a 40+ yard TD pass called back because of a stupid & unnecessary chop block. It was the right call but didn't help the receiver score at all. Our kicker missed two FG's and an extra point and we lost by 5 points. He also had 92 yards rushing in the Alabama game.

You know it's a down year for the Heisman when Johnny [expletive] Manziel is the front runner. Yuck.

I'm not disagreeing that it's a down year, but Manziel is putting up some crazy stats. He'll pass Cam Newton's yardage total from his Heisman season on Saturday while doing it in less games. He will also finish with better stats than Tebow did in his Heisman season. We've played the toughest schedule and have played 3 of the top 5 defenses in the country. He broke Archie Manning's single game yardage record and then broke his own record a few weeks later. We are 9-2 and favored by 22 points in our last game this Saturday. Did anyone here expect us to win more than 6 games?

Not than any team in the B1G is very good this year, but if Wisconsin goes to the Rose Bowl again it could get ugly against a pissed off Oregon team.

Oregon won't be going to the Rose Bowl unless Stanford loses to UCLA this weekend.

Well, Stanford would kick their ass too, you get my point.

As long as we don't count any bad passes that receivers still caught and then add INTs that were dropped by defenders, we can give him credit for all that crap up there.

Yeah Manziel put up some amazing numbers against South Carolina State, Sam Houston State and Louisiana Tech's D

He put up 252 total yards against SCSU and 367 yards against SHSU because he only played a half against each.
