I was discussing this with a coworker today and we disagreed on what would happen. In the fairly unlikely hypothetical where:

-Notre Dame loses to USC

-Stanford loses to UCLA

-Oregon beats Oregon St and UCLA

-Florida beats FSU

Who meets the winner of Bama-Georgia in the title game? I said I thought Oregon would while my coworker said Florida would. This was not about who deserved it more, rather who the voters/computers would make No. 2.

I'd say Oregon, but it will be pretty close. The majority of voters have Oregon ahead right now, and I don't see them changing their mind if that scenario happens. I also think there will be some push to not have another all SEC title game if the teams are close.

The majority of computers will likely have Florida ahead. The thing to watch out for in that scenario is if Notre Dame ends up between Florida and Oregon in some of the computers. That may be enough for Florida to overcome the voter advantage. But I input some of those results into Colley's formula, and it looks likely that he would have Oregon having a slim margin over ND in that scenario.

Yeah, the computers would be interesting in that scenario. Would Bama's victory over Georgia be enough to jump them over Florida in the computers? Would Oregon jump Kansas State and/or Stanford?

And you mentioned it with the computers but it applies to the polls also, but how far does Notre Dame fall? They could slot in between Oregon and Florida or at least take some votes away from Florida.

I am not voting for Manziel for the Heisman under no circumstances.

I guess that can be interpreted different ways.

The English language interprets that as "I am voting for Manziel."

You know that and I know that, but I highly doubt that an idiot sportscaster meant that when he tweeted that statement.

Maybe the writer won't consider casting a heisman vote for a guy that spent a night in jail in June.

Is that the best you can come up with? Yawn.

I'm not a BR fan at all, but it's interesting to note this was written by a Notre Dame grad and fan.

I didn't think you would cite a website that would lower your credibility after the teamranking.com faisco, but there you go

Did you even read the first part of my post?

I'm not a BR fan but here's an article I read.

That was a horrible article. There are many reasons he may not deserve to win, but the fact that some guy on a terrible team had more tacked than him and Suh finished fourth in a much better field are not among them.

Stolen from elsewhere:

In a way, all of us has a Lane Kiffin to face. For some, shyness might be their Lane Kiffin. For others, a lack of education might be their Lane Kiffin. For us, Lane Kiffin is a big, ridiculous [expletive] who wants to beat us. But as sure as my name is Brian Kelly, the people of South Bend can conquer their own personal Lane Kiffin, who also happens to be *the actual* Lane Kiffin!

Arkansas kicked a FG on 4th and goal from the 1/2 yard line while down 17-10 (after missing 2 field goals). Dumb.

Weird call for a team with nothing to lose. But that's Johnelle

Punting on 4th and 4 from the LSU 45, down 4 with 5:30 to go.

How much more money does LSU get for a Sugar Bowl bid than a Cotton Bowl? That's basically what John L. is handing LSU.

The incomplete pass by Wilson landed on the ground with :01. Arkansas should have gotten one more chance.

I think LSU needs a lot of help to make a BCS bowl.

I'm not sure there was ever a more predictable collapse than the one Arkansas has made since naming John L the interim head coach. I can't figure out how they thought that was a good move.

As a senior up against a lame duck coach, I wish Tyler Wilson would have refused to yield the field. That was absurd.

Merged the coaching stuff into the offseason thread to avoid simultaneous discussion across 2 threads.

I was hoping Florida would have gotten an additional penalty or two on the goal line just to see how close Florida State could possibly get without getting it in.
