my facebook feed is littered with notre dame fans celebrating. number of them who went to notre dame: zero. don't get it.

By this standard, A) no one is allowed to become a college sports fan until age 18, or B) everyone who picks a team must go to that college regardless of academics, finances or majors or their fandom is invalid. Please kill this stupid topic of whining and bitching forever.

most of the notre dame fans i know have no idea what i'm talking about when i try to have a meaningful conversation with them about college football. one of them is even a cub fan and has this sweet ass starlin castro all star jersey he wears at work on fridays, but when i try to talk to him about baez or soler he looks at me like i'm from the moon.

you have a lot of nerve to be talking to anyone about whining and bitching

My school will never go to a National Title game in sports people care about so for Notre Dame to go (my wife is a grad student here so I have became a bandwagon fan) is pretty cool. I hope they can give Alabama/Georgia a game.

i'm not saying that nobody should root for notre dame, but generally people root for a college team because they attended that school, their parents attended it, or they grew up near it. nobody from arizona or nevada is becoming a rutgers fan just for the hell of it. yet i have loads of friends from south jersey who went to college somewhere in the east, then settled back in the philly area, and they're notre dame fans.

though it is fun to see how easy it is to rile up you and GR even on a night when your team made the national championship game.

It's at least the second time this season people have played the "Why oh why do people who don't have affiliation with Notre Dame root for them?" thing for no real reason. It gets old.

My comment is directed at TT who has become abuck's more rational, yet shockingly whinier, twin brother lately.

Calm down killer, the game was over at that point. Laughing at the punter who literally threw his own legs out from under himself is the appropriate course of action on that play, regardless of affiliation.

it also gets old listening to people from new jersey crow about the fighting irish or the cowboys.

Usually when people post things on Facebook I don't want to read, I unsubscribe from their feeds.

is there a way to unsubscribe from just notre dame posts?

I'm calm, pookey. I just don't know what's become of you.

Who's riled up? The only time I've been riled up tonight was when Kelly went empty backfield again on the last drive.

Can I bet the under on the title game yet?

Where's UMFan?

The SEC goes 4-0 against the ACC, including top-11 Clemson and Florida State losing by double digits at home.

If OU beats TCU next week, they have to get priority over Clemson and FSU (if FSU loses the ACC title game) as far as at-large bids go. Losses only to the No 1 team and another top-10 team.

Does anyone else not understand the "Sport X is better when Major Team in Sport X is good" thing?

I heard it with Notre Dame today and heard it with the Knicks the other day and I don't get it. I don't like the NBA more if the Knicks are good and I don't like it less if the Knicks are bad. Same goes for the Lakers/NBA, Yankees/MLB, Cowboys/NFL or whatever.

So as far as BCS bowls go, here's what we know for sure:

NCG: Notre Dame-Bama/Georgia

Rose: Wisc/Neb-Stan/UCLA

Fiesta: KSU/Oklahoma

Sugar:

Orange: FSU/Georgia Tech

Then we have:

Big East winner

Florida (I'm assuming they'll be No. 3 ahead of Oregon and the SEC title game loser and will get an auto-bid via the 3-4 rule)

I'm going to assume Oregon gets picked also.

The Sugar will get to pick the first at-large because they lose Bama/Georgia to the NCG. Then the order is Fiesta, Sugar, Orange.

I'm guessing the Sugar will pick Florida as an SEC replacement and the Fiesta goes with Oregon. Then it comes down to whether or not a non-AQ team gets into the top-16. If not, the Sugar will pick another BCS school leaving the Orange with the Big East winner.

So we'll have:

NCG: Notre Dame-Bama/Georgia

Rose: Wisc/Neb-Stan/UCLA

Fiesta: KSU/Oklahoma-Oregon

Sugar: Florida-OU/Clem

Orange: FSU/Georgia Tech-Big East

If the favorites win this weekend that means:

NCG: Notre Dame-Bama/Georgia

Rose: Nebraska-Stanford

Fiesta: KSU-Oregon

Sugar: Florida-Oklahoma/Clemson

Orange: Florida State-Big East

If a non-AQ school gets an at-large, we'll have

NCG: Notre Dame-Bama/Georgia

Rose: Wisc/Neb-Stan/UCLA

Fiesta: KSU/Oklahoma-Oregon

Sugar: Florida-Big East/non-AQ

Orange: FSU/Georgia Tech-Big East/non-AQ

Also, I kind of wish OSU was eligible this season, just to see the crazy storm that would erupt when they were 7th or 8th in the rankings and undefeated.

They would be ranked higher if they were eligible. They had 3 common opponents as ND and played them about the same as ND. They lack a signature win like Stanford. But I think OSU would most certainly be in the Title Game mix if they were eligible.

In the only poll they're eligible for, they're 4th, and their computer average (if it counted) is 10th. They wouldn't be in the NC game.

I am assuming that they lose votes because they are ineligible. Also were they 10th before or after yesterday? and if they were eligible they would have a shot at improving their computer rankings with a game against Nebraska. I am not saying they would be in, but I think they would be more in the mix than you may be assuming. Either way, it's moot, so I am not going to argue too much about this.
