You're the one that wanted to discount the supposed monster stat games he had against FCS schools.

And you're the one who included those stats...nevermind that it's shameful that you've abandoned your Texas State roots just because they're ranked 113th in the prestigous teamrankings.com poll.

I'd be happy to remove those stats and still show how he's deserving of the Heisman if it makes you happy. I feel like you could use some happiness in your life. You seem like a miserable human being.

Comparing a defensive player to an offensive player is basically impossible. It's even difficult to compare defensive players to other defensive players. You do have other stats such as sacks, tackles, tackles for loss, etc. Te'o is a great player and I'm not saying he doesn't deserve the Heisman. Obviously I think my guy does but I don't expect everyone to agree. What started this discussion was my disbelief that someone, especially someone paid to cover sports and who actually has a Heisman vote, would refuse to even consider putting Manziel in his top 3.

I can't think of a single player this year that everyone has to have on their ballot. Manziel isn't head and shoulders above any of several candidates this year. No one is.

OK, but he specifically said he wouldn't even consider it. Give me a good reason why you won't even consider the player who many believe to be the current front runner. The team is 9-2 and in the BCS top 10, so it's not like he's on a mediocre team. His offensive stats compare favorably to any other QB in the nation. He beat the #1 team in the country in their stadium. You can make a legitimate argument why someone else is a better candidate. Maybe even that he isn't in the top 3. But to not even consider him is foolish and unexplainable.

Did he say he wouldn't consider it? I thought he said he wasn't voting for Manziel. Maybe he's already considered the field and doesn't think Manziel measures up.

As for going against the popular opinion, that opinion all but crowned Klein Heisman about 5 days ago. How many ballots is he on now? Top 10 BCS team. Comparable stats. Etc etc.

The exact quote from his Twitter feed:

I am not voting for Manziel for the Heisman under no circumstances.

I guess that can be interpreted different ways. As far as Klein goes, he was the front runner because his team was undefeated. He's scored a bunch of TD's, but the rest of his stats are average. Their best win of the year was at Oklahoma (which is a very good win) but he had 149 yards passing, 79 yards rushing and 1 TD. That's the only team they've played with a defense. Manziel is getting bashed for his poor performance against Florida where he threw for 173 yards, rushed for 60 and scored 1 TD.

The English language interprets that as "I am voting for Manziel."

You know that and I know that, but I highly doubt that an idiot sportscaster meant that when he tweeted that statement.

I'm not a BR fan at all, but it's interesting to note this was written by a Notre Dame grad and fan.

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1417858-why-manti-teos-heisman-candidacy-reveals-bias-in-heisman-voting

Mark Ingram, Gino Torretta, Chris Weinke, Jason White and Eric Crouch can't believe it's being alleged that the best players on the best team have a leg up on potentially more deserving candidates in Heisman voting.
