Nothing against Northwestern, but how the heck are they ranked? Who is their best win this year? Here are all of them: @ Syracuse (4-5), Vanderbilt (5-4), Boston College (2-7), South Dakota (1-8 in 1-AA), Indiana (4-5), @ Minnesota (5-4), Iowa (4-5).

Mississippi State's wins: Jacksonville St, Auburn, Troy, S. Alabama, Kentucky, Tennessee & Middle Tennessee. At least NW was competitive in its losses.

I am not even sure why they are ranked ahead of Michigan. I would imagine that Michigan is at least a touchdown favorite in that game.

Is it wrong that I'm hoping Louisville and Alabama end up as the only two undefeated teams at the end of the season?

If that happens, where do they end up in the rankings? Say Oregon loses a close game to either Stanford or Oregon St but still wins the Pac-12 title, KSt drops a close game, ND loses a close game to USC and Florida wins out. How many of these teams are ranked ahead of Louisville?

In Louisville/BCS related news, I think it's funny that Louisville is ranked ninth in the BCS despite not being ranked that high in any of the three parts of the BCS (they're 10th in both polls and 13th in the computers).

Also, the computers HATE Florida State. They're ranked sixth in the polls (eighth in the AP) but 19th in the computers. Their highest ranking is 15th and they're not even ranked in Sagarin's (he does have them 13th in his overall rankings and 10th in the predictor so it's just the part that the BCS uses which doesn't like FSU). The reason? Their schedule is terrible. They've played Clemson and a bunch of crap.

I'm making my way to Kinnick with an Iowa grad this Saturday. He's a season ticket holder and the last time I went with him Shonn Greene dropped 200+ yards and two TDs on Purdue. It's going to be a battle of ugly.

Any recommendations for places to eat/drink/things to do in Tuscaloosa?

Not without catching mouth aids.

Seriously though, good luck. Hoping to see Bama lose.

Thanks. I'm not expecting to see that happen, but they did look somewhat human against LSU. Maybe if the planets align...

Sure seems like everyone wants to match us up in the Cotton Bowl. What do you think about that possibility?

Thanks. I've heard of Dreamland. What does "meat-n-three" mean?

My confidence level to win out is pretty low. Not sure we beat TCU. Kstate rapes Mack Brown when they suck. This year in Manhatten could be terrible.

we're 13.5 pt favorites, which does seem a little batty

OU was a 2-score favorite when it hosted ND.

Well that's a contest Purdue co-eds should have no problem winning.

A win is a win.
