What's the issue with Karros? (I don't feel like I've watched him enough over the last couple years to form a strong opinion.)

The lisp is a really good start.

I've never noticed one, and if we hire him and I do notice it and fixate on it, I will blame you.

I'm not sure I'd describe it as a lisp, but maybe that is what it technically is. There's definitely a bit of an odd speech impediment of some sort.

Yeah, lisp is the right description.

Meh, by lisp standards, that's super weak.

I'm pretty sure that everyone who wants Doug Glanville has never actually heard him speak

Yea, that's my issue with him.

a little nasally, but that should work in Chicago. Sounds like a good talker to me

I agree. He's smart and articulate, which scores big points in my book. I could see he and Len having a nice rapport.

As far as voices go, I think I'd rather listen to Karros than Glanville.

On the whole, I'm intrigued by Glanville, but wonder how good he'd be as a booth announcer. The potential booth with him and Len could work out wonderfully. Karros I'd be okay with, he's largely not annoying or obnoxiously wrong in the booth, and working day in and day out with Len I bet they could build a decent rapport. Essentially, Glanville is aiming big but with potential downside with his booth inexperience. Karros would be a worthy successor to what Bob was, for better and worse.

If Glanville gets the job, the Cubs will easily have the highest IQ of PBP/color team

karros or glanville would be fine. i was terrified we were going to have cubs games ruined by somebody like sutcliffe or plesac.

RT @MattSpiegel670: Steve Stone just suggested, strongly, that it will be Eric Karros in the Cubs booth with @LenKasper next season.

That's a bit of a conclusion to jump to for Steve Stone predicting a curveball low and away.

I think I hope he's right.

I don't know that I could see any hire as a positive, as I just don't care much what they're saying as long as they don't say lots of stupid meatbally things and aren't overly critical of good players for stupid things, so a non negative is a win.

That and Glanville just sounds really hard on the ears.

yet you're OK with the Karros lisp...

Don't even notice it.
