It's one thing for Casey Coleman to be a horrible pitcher. It's another thing for Casey Coleman to be a horrible pitcher with the pace of Daisuke

In Coleman's defense, McCutchen's ground ball would probably resulted in at least one out if not a double play against most other teams. Since Sveum doesn't believe in positioning the middle infield differently with a runner on first base, the grounder went for a hit. When the ball was first hit, I assumed it would be a 6-4-3, in not a 6-3, double play. On the replay, you could see Barney shaded up the middle and Castro in the hole.

 

That said, I don't believe Casey Coleman will take advantage of the opportunity presented to him.
