In other news, while Ryan Dempster eventually agreed to a trade to the Rangers, Casey Coleman has yet to agree to stop being Casey Colemn.

That was the perfectly quintessential Casey Coleman inning.

In Coleman's defense, McCutchen's ground ball would probably resulted in at least one out if not a double play against most other teams. Since Sveum doesn't believe in positioning the middle infield differently with a runner on first base, the grounder went for a hit. When the ball was first hit, I assumed it would be a 6-4-3, in not a 6-3, double play. On the replay, you could see Barney shaded up the middle and Castro in the hole.

 

That said, I don't believe Casey Coleman will take advantage of the opportunity presented to him.
