Colby Lewis... Wow.

I didn't see a link on here to what he did, so for those that didn't read or watch a highlight about this. Wow, its absolutely hilarious..

"I told [Rasmus] I didn't appreciate it," Lewis said, according to MLB.com. "You're up by two runs with two outs and you lay down a bunt. I don't think that's the way the game should be played."

....

"I felt like you have a situation where there is two outs, you're up two runs, you have gotten a hit earlier in the game off me, we are playing the shift, and he laid down a bunt basically simply for average," Lewis said.

In much weirder news apparently Mel Hall was banging and living with a 15 year old girl plus her family that he met at Yankee stadium while he was a 30 yr old Yankee. Weird, interesting article...

Edit: I was at work and didn't see there was more chapters to this weird, weird story. Essentially he was sexually abusing a bunch of girls, most on junior high and high school sports teams he was coaching after retirement.

Just crazy the circumstances of everything in the story.

I think this Mel Hall article, the deadspin Steve Garvey article, and the Tom Emanski article were the best longform stories I've read in the past year.

Wow, Shin Soo Choo has been awful this year.

New market inefficiency to exploit: secretly poison or maim almost every big FA you pass or miss out on because seriously what the [expletive].

I only read the first chapter, but I didn't like how Schowalter realized it was time to get rid of him only after he disrespected old Yankee players instead of, you know, [expletive] teenagers.

An article with a bunch of random facts/stats about how ridiculous Bonds was. My favorite:

—If you turned every home run Bonds ever hit into an out, his career on base percentage would be .384, the same as Alex Rodriguez's.

And a few other good ones

—Bonds drew 688 intentional walks in his career. There are 49 Hall of Fame position players who drew fewer walks of any kind in their entire careers.

—If Bonds had retired after the 1998 season, he would have done so with 99.6 career rWAR. This would rank him No. 32 all-time.

—Between 2002 and 2004, Bonds hit 136 home runs and struck out 146 times.

—Bonds reached base just 330 fewer times than all-time leader Pete Rose, in 3,284 fewer plate appearances.

—From 2001 to 2004, Bonds's on base percentage was .559; that would have been the 11th-highest slugging average in the National League during this period.

—If Bonds were to return to the major leagues tomorrow, he would have to make 1,412 straight outs to drop his on base percentage below .400.

So rather than just signing Kendrys Morales earlier in the season, the Mariners decided to let somebody else sign him and then trade for him.

And in doing so they also saved a [expletive] load of $$$$$
