The Dodgers were 16-24 in their first 40 road games. They're 16-1 in their last 17.

And they may have broken Shelby Miller last night too. That was an ugly liner off the elbow.

But, but Triple Crown, RBI's, he can't be that good if his team isn't even going to make the playoffs, herp derp, argle bargle

pretty sure nobody's ever said he wasn't good. and it's not like miguel cabrera was a [expletive] choice for mvp last year. people act like raul ibanez won or something.

He never said that nobody said he wasn't good.

close enough

he can't be that good

Now that you mention it, hitting like current day Ted Williams wouldn't be difficult at all would it?

Not sure, I haven't seen the data. He could have an unreasonably low BABIP weighing down the numbers.

Once you add his imaginary hits, he's pushing .400 just like the good ol days

Batting-average related (I know, I know) but just saw that Eris Hosmer (KC) is now hitting .297 on the year. His month by month BAs (BABIPs):

April .250 (.327)

May .269 (.301)

June .303 (.297)

July .324 (.353)

August .400 (.407)

Still not hitting for a ton of power (.443 SLG) and doesn't walk a ton (.342 OBP), but was also surprised to see that he's actually a better hitter vs. lefties than righties (152 OPS+ vs. 107 OPS+, respectfully).

Interesting year for a former can't-possibly-miss prospect.

Hosmer has been outstanding for about 2 months now, coincidentally started when George Brett took over as hitting coach. Really flying under the radar because of his slow start (and the fact he's in KC, I suppose)

While his SLG for the year isn't all that impressive, his turnaround has included an increase in power. He's slugging .537 in his last 56 games.

Not starting a thread for this until there's more to it, but....

Former major-leaguer Jack Clark accused Albert Pujols of taking performance-enhancing drugs during his new radio show, according to Dan Ceasar of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

"I know for a fact he was. The trainer that worked with him, threw him batting practice from Kansas City, that worked him out every day, basically told me that's what he did."

jack clark doesn't like anyone not named jack clark. he talks a lot of [expletive]. he was doing the same crap 25 years ago with tony gwynn, saying to the press he was a selfish player and only cared about winning batting titles.

On one hand, I'm trying to think of one instance in which someone has been publicly and specifically accused of taking PEDs where it hasn't ended up being true.

On the other hand, Jack Clark is a pud.

On the third hand, Jose Canseco is also a pud, and pretty much everything he's said about people using steroids has been true.

I mean they probably both did, but without any evidence you just look like an idiot or jackass.
