Isn't Deng's value kind of low right now? He's got the gimpy wrist and he's putting off surgery for now. Let him round back into form and the trade market will be there. Or we just keep him.

That wrist was definitely taking away his slashing ability and affecting his shooting.

So long Berto Center.

The Chicago Bulls announced overnight Wednesday that they are moving their practice facility from suburban Deerfield to downtown Chicago.

Actually at the end of the article they indicate the new facility may end up keeping the Berto Center name.

Nope. I think they're gonna build the place. This is about as detailed as it gets...

the team said the new facility, which has no timetable and will be privately funded, "could include additional features that would allow the team to expand its use of the building, particularly during non-practice times. Some ideas under consideration include event and educational space, and greater digital and video production capabilities."

Team and real estate sources indicated the team has considered creating a restaurant- and entertainment-based complex on the East end of the United Center, modeled on the successful "L.A. Live" outside the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Would anyone be interested in Brandon Roy on a cheap 1 year deal? Perhaps with an option for a 2nd year?

I think him and Rip would be a great tandem. You can limit both of their minutes and play them together as Roy can play some point.

A great tandem in that you can't count on either of them to be healthy when you need them?

rip was healthy in the playoffs

Cool. So it's a good bet that will always be the case, right? After all, Derrick was healthy in the playoffs last year, and this year he's leading us to another championship! You logic is unimpeachable.

you said that you can't count on them "when you need them", as if rip got hurt before the playoffs last year or something. kind of like a few years ago when arod could never hit "when it matters". choose less meatbally phrasing and you'll be fine next time.

You being intentionally obtuse to have a laugh or do you genuinely think that Rip Hamilton and Brandon Roy have the kind of injury records that make them smart bets to rely on? If the former, you're not funny. If the latter, you're an idiot.

GREAT A-Rod analogy, btw. Really apropos; totally made sense. Strong stuff.

I'm pretty sure he'd come cheap, so why not take a shot? He'd be a true difference maker if he can stay somewhat healthy. We're not going to have the resources to sign anyone substantial, so why not take the gamble?

Not that I know what Roy or anyone else are going to command in FA, but I'd rather take a shot on him being able to come back and contribute rather than give 2-3 times as much money (and more years) to a guy like Nick Young.

I'd rather pay the extra money to a guy who can, you know, at least walk right, let alone run up and down a basketball court 80 times a year.

Didn't Roy retire last year because he was so broken?

The good thing about signing Roy is you guys won't have a shortage of excuses after he plays 42 minutes next season.

Our excuses are better than 'we're too old'

From reading the general thread, it seems like I'm fine going with THEY CHEATED FOR THE HEAT

So is Rose having issues with his recovery? A friend just e-mailed and said he heard something of the sort on ESPN Radio.

Probably talking about this, http://espn.go.com/chicago/nba/story/_/id/8074004/chicago-bulls-derrick-rose-getting-knee-examined-dr-james-andrews

He visited Dr. Andrews but not because of complications or anything, just probably to make sure he's rehabbing properly/doing everything he can/should be doing.

Chicago Bulls guard Derrick Rose was in Alabama on Tuesday consulting Dr. James Andrews as he continues to rehabilitate his surgically repaired knee, according to sources familiar with the situation.

The rehabilitation is going well and Rose made the trip just to have the renowned surgeon, who has worked on many athletes, take a look, according to a source.

Bulls general manager Gar Forman recently praised Rose's rehabilitation during a Q&A on the team's website.

"Derrick Rose is doing terrific," Forman said. "He's been diligent in his rehab. He's made tremendous progress to this point.

According to Wilbon and his sources, the recovery for Rose is not going well.

Uhhhhh

The rehabilitation is going well, according to a source.

Listen to the Waddle and Silvy interview. Speculation is that why on Earth would Rose go to Andrews in the first place if everything has been successful? It does raise red flags.
