I'm expecting Gould to be the centerpiece, which will be very disappointing.

That's kind of what people were expecting in the first place

Which shouldn't change the disappointment when people realized there was an opportunity for more.

I am too. But Gould is fine. He'd easily be our 2nd best pitching prospect, behind Vizcaino.

it would, but a couple weeks ago we thought him and withrow was a solid return

You may have thought that, but I never did. Gould is a back of the rotation starter if he makes it at all.

Here's to hoping Dempster walks a boat load and Lilly slams his glove again during the playoffs. It would really make me smile when thinking about 2008.

I just can't wait until it's official so I can stop reading the word "Dumpster" on this forum
I find it very appropriate at this point. I think of a few others that would also be appropriate now, also.

No. He'd be behind Maples and Johnson, at the very least - and in a deep system, a rag-armed guy like Gould might not be in the top 10 pitching prospects.

I guess it all depends on what we could have got from the Yankees or Rangers, which we'll likely never know. There's still Garza, but I'm hoping for some type of surprise insanity trade with the D Backs for him.

If Dumpster is headed to the Dodgers, he officially screwed us.

Didn't screw anyone. This was his right. You'd do the same.

Maybe YOU would have handled it the same - not me ;)

Maybe, maybe not.

But given the position Theo and Jed have been put in, it's about the best we can expect at this point.

We could have gotten a funny look because I don't think they had any idea that they were in on Dempster. That was a planned leak by the Cubs' FO.

Pretty sure the title accurately reflects where things stand. Feel free to change it.
