They also don't know what a Bryan LaHair is and definitely know who Joey Votto is. This isn't complicated.

Ryan Howard is going to get more All Star votes than Bryan LaHair, and he hasn't played an inning yet.

Guys, just let WSR love LaHair. By now we should all know nothing is going to stop him.

Where does it state love for LaHair as opposed to lack of love for the majority of NL 1st baseman? But yeah, LaHair is one of the few things that have made this team bearable, certainly more than waiting for Stewart and Sotos luck to change.

P.S.

The Cubs have had internal discussions on how to fit LaHair and top prospect Anthony Rizzo in the same lineup, reports Gordon Wittenmyer of the Chicago Sun-Times.

Spin: LaHair and Rizzo have been hitting extremely well in the MLB and in Triple-A, respectively. Rizzo has only played first base in his career while LaHair has some experience in the outfield, so that seems to be the route the Cubs would go.

Has LaHair lapped the rest of the team in HR yet?

Didn't he have more than the rest of the team before the game tonight? Just getting back from work and haven't checked updated stats, so I'm purely guessing.

Because Stewart hit one tonight, I think the Cubs have 12 total home runs. LaHair has 6 of them.

Some of you guys are such ageists. The guy absolutely kicked ass in the minors and is kicking ass in MLB. People get so excited about a mediocre player in double A ball because he's 19. Everyone wants a potential Ken Griffey Jr. who dominates for 10-15 years. But that happens once a decade. Who wouldn't take Bryan LaHair over Corey Patterson.

Bryan LaHair has a long way to go before he matches what Corey Patterson did in the majors before hurting his knee. Talk to me when he gets there.

Trade him for Bryce Harper now.

But seriously, trade him for a top prospect now.

You aren't going to get a top prospect.

Your general point is right, but Howard won't be on the ballot. LaHair will end up around 7th.

Or since hurting his knee.

2003 is (I think) what you're referring to. That was the year he got hurt, but 298/329/511 in 83 games as a 23 year old is pretty impressive. 2004 he went 266/320/452, which is still pretty good.

No, 2004 is what I was referring to. That was the point, because the knee injury happened in 03.

He put up 5.2 WAR in 04.

Reading that LaHair article, I pictured an FJM send-up where KT would just inject ".600 BABIP" every couple sentences.

"LaHair is insanely hot right now. THANKS TO HIS .600 BABIP. He homered again Wednesday, his sixth of the season, and he's batting .381/.459/.794, ON THE STRENGTH OF A .600 BABIP giving Cubs fans one reason to keep paying attention to a bad team."

Then he casually mentions it at the end of the article because it's just minor detail that only nerds care about so [expletive] them.
