I'd love for you to find where I ever did that. Nunn actually committed to us for a short time but I never expected to land Jabari despite the fact his dad starred at A&M in the 70's. I'm sure I was hopeful for a miracle but nothing more than that.

(IU fans, forgive the knock on Oladipo - he's a really good player, I've just been tiring of the hype on him lately. The "mini-Jordan" stuff was particularly appalling)

 

I love Oladipo, but they recent hype has been over the top. Not sure where Vitale came up with the mini-Jordan stuff. I think he's great, but that is just absurd.

 

I mean I'm in total agreement to the Jordan stuff that's just stupid, but that juke he put on whoever on Michigan the other night for the dunk was f'in awesome.

That was originally Watford's guy. Watford and Yogi switched and Cody didn't. I question the entire play call defensively. Zeller needs to be near the basket. If they want to win on a catch and shoot jumpshot, so be it. But can't allow a layup.

 

I'm not as disappointing with losing as I am with blowing a decent sized lead late in the game. If they're patient they're on the FT line to end the game and Illinois can't come back as IU doesn't have as many empty possessions. But the big picture is, IU has 3 losses, 2 of them by buzzer beaters. I can handle that. For the first time, I actually feel like this team can win a championship. I think the only loss where a team exploited one of their deficiencies is Wisconsin, and I feel they have worked on half-court offense and improved in a big way. This was actually their 1st road loss. I feel pretty good about them NOT losing 2 in a row, because the one thing Crean has shown he can do is get his team up for games.

heh, indiana hits 52% of their threes and almost 50% of their total shots and misses one free throw. seems to me like you're trying to cheapen it just a bit. illinois wasn't without their mistakes in the game, either.

 

I was referring to the final 3 minutes, not the first 37. Indiana did shoot well, and played more than good enough to win for 37 minutes. Not cheapening anything, but IU contributed to their own demise at the end of the game, that is all.

I think Indiana should be upset with themselves for not making a commitment to getting the ball in the paint against Illinois. On that last play whoever the player was kind of guarding the Illinois player in the opposite corner should have been back in the lane more also. It would have been an easy close out for him from the lane. Overall Indiana's help defense was not good on that last play
