Sounds like a lot of sanctimonious bs to me.

I think if it's the exception, not the rule, then it's not sanctimonious. I am excited for Noah Vonleh next year, who is expected to be a one-year player. I was excited for Trey Lyles, who is a great player. If the entire team was made up of such players? Well, I don't know how I would react, but I'd prefer not to find out. You don't need a team of one-and-done's to win the title either; Kentucky just won, but I'm not sure they win if Terrence Jones, Doron Lamb, and Darius Miller weren't around too.

Iowa had quite a few one-and-done players under Lickliter though I think that's different than what we're talking about here.

What's Little Lick up to these days?

But, for me, I would not have traded that for watching players like Verdell Jones, Matt Roth, and Tom Pritchard come in to a decimated program and win six, ten, and twelve games, then win twenty-seven games and play in the Sweet Sixteen (albeit not Jones, who was hurt). This,

which is my favorite sporting event I've ever attended, would not have had the same import. Last year was not the best IU team I've rooted for, but it was probably my co-favorite.

To be fair, you probably wouldn't have won 27 games if Verdell Jones was healthy. And Roth and Pritchard were pretty bystanderish by the end of the season.

Well, sure. Neither of those guys were big factors, but it was still a joy seeing them enjoying winning and in the tournament after the crapfest of their first three years. I wasn't trying to imply that they "developed" into integral Sweet Sixteen players (they were marginal role players). I think that's sort of the point, I was as happy for those guys, probably more so, than guys like Cody Zeller and Christian Watford.

Ben mclemore is a stud. He's an elite talent.

Also who in the hell was UNC's last great pro?

B Mac is.

UNC hasn't produced many great pros recently, but I feel like they get more 1-2 year players than most programs. I could be wrong.

Of relevance to a previous discussion:

Some signs suggest that universities are facing up to their inefficiencies. Indiana University has just announced innovations aimed at lowering the cost and reducing the time it takes to earn a degree. More of this is needed.

I'm sure this is just a conspiratorial form of Creaning the entire student body, though.

I am very glad that now when we seem like we are struggling with the offense we still are able to put up 32 points by halftime. That said we rebound like crap.

Is the game on tv? I couldn't find it on comcast anywhere.

29% shooting and won by 8. So...yay?

Brutal. Glad I didn't see any of this one. There have been a few ugly wins so far this season that they probably wouldn't have won in previous seasons.

I'm worried Gonzaga's size is going to be a nightmare for this team on Saturday.

I don't think that was nearly as ugly as most of the Texas-GTown game last night. Watched most of the first half of that one while on a treadmill and it was bad. I didn't think UI was that bad, just one of those nights they're going to have where the 3s didn't fall.

Vince Carter?

Who is the same year as Paul Pierce. It's been a long time for them too.

Illinois loses by 10+ at Gonzaga Saturday night.

I think we will compete. We've played to the opponent a lot this year.

we'll compete, but probably still lose by 10 or more.

there is a chance we shoot well and win.

This might be the best Gonzaga team yet, and Illinois is likely the highest ranked team they'll get this year (unless Oklahoma State continues to rise the next three weeks). Illinois plays to their opponent, but the best opponent they've faced this year is Butler, who isn't even a top 50 team.

If Illinois keeps it within 20, it'll be a moral victory.
