If I'm wrong, awesome, but it just seems like a terrible combination of situations for Illinois, what with a Gonzaga team that might be Ohio State/Michigan good, with their best player matched up with the Illini's weakest link, and a rare national TV spot for a Gonzaga team that is really going to want to make a statement that they're worthy of a top 2 seed.

And a true road game, right?

Hawaii is very tough place to play, the natives are always restless....this should be that but a good team.

I thought it was a neutral site game? Plus while we have some problem match ups, they don't exactly have anyone to stop Brandon Paul either. I think they'll win, but wouldn't be shocked to see us win either.

Nope, it's at Gonzaga. We were in Seattle a couple years ago.

Damn, ok that definitely makes it a lot tougher. Has anyone heard what we are planning to do now that this series is ending? I hope we find another name program to do a series with.

DePaul was losing by 14 at the half to Chicago State last night. Rallied to win by 10. Would have been the worst loss of the year for any BCS level program. Progress!!!

Just join the Horizon league and call it a day.

What about the A10?

They're not good enough for the A10.

Is washington state good this year?

Pomeroy has them at 96th overall and projected to finish 16-15 and 8-10 in the Pac 12.

In a bad Pac-12, at that.

i thought this was a fun read

"The team that may have the most talent in the country, in my book, is Michigan. The Wolverines currently have five players ranked in our Top 100. Kentucky is the only other team to have as many Top 100 players. Right now, point guard Trey Burke is the only Michigan player ranked in our top 30, but Glenn Robinson III and Tim Hardaway Jr. both have the ability to crack the first round of the NBA draft. Freshmen Mitch McGary and Nik Stauskas are further down the list, but both have a real shot at getting drafted down the road.

That's in part why I believe Michigan is a Final Four team and may give Indiana a run for the No. 1 spot by the end of the season."

That's what I thought. Man, I think we give gonzaga all they want.

I'd love to be wrong, but I just think Gonzaga is going to be able to outscore UI. Foul problems could become trouble for Abrams/Egwu in a tough environment too. I list them because they're backups suck and UI needs them.

He's a big man who's not even halfway through his sophomore year, he's got a lot of time. He needs to get to the foul line more and be more physical rebounding, but he's certainly taking a back seat to a Senior class playing very well right now (Griffey, Paul, Richardson...even McLaurin a bit maybe). Other than Paul he's still the only player on the team that has a shot at the NBA.

Big guys take longer to develop, you know this. He will be fine.

Better than Hawaii.

I think the time zone change played a lot into that game. Because after halftime we played very well, seems we had to get our legs. I'm glad we played it though. Got us ready for the Maui.

i don't see it. he's a big goof thus far, i don't know what that means for his chances of playing in the nba. probably a bad thing.
