Just saw the last few seconds of the first half of the Gardner Webb/Illinois game. Seems like I missed quite the shooting display from both teams huh?

I'm sure that is how Groce drew up that last possession. A win is a win boys, take it.

That is Griffey's strength though. That shot wasn't a fluke. But yeah, I doubt he went with that as his first option.

What a terrible win. Lot of work to do still before big ten.

A win's a win. We're a flawed team, but at least we kept the bad loss off our resume. We have to improve against the zone though.

True, we need to take care of the ball better. Plus we can't have Abrams and Egwu having their horrible games together like that. We need to go kill ga tech now.

Tracy's a tough kid, he's gonna learn from this and improve. I hate to single him out but if he's going to be the primary ball handler, he needs to value the basketball, and come out firing from the start.

Do you think last years' squad would have won this game? Because winning something like the Maui Classic and then, turning around and losing to the likes of Gardner Webb was par for the course the last few seasons.

5 months till Ben Howland is fired (I hope)...

What's worse, being down 20 at halftime to Gardner Webb or beating them in the last few seconds?

Losing by double digits at home to Gardner Webb while they are missing their 2 best players and played halfway across the country the night before

Neither are anything to crow about.

I bet the illini announcers made complete asses of themselves by getting excited about the comeback.

No, only the KU honks get excited about beating lesser competition, jeez.

But seriously, I don't know, since I deleted it from the DVR without having watched it after I caught a glimpse of the score on FB. But it was probably a BTN crew, so it might not have been so bad.

Indiana's offense is so efficient. If they continue to keep playing decent defense, it should be a really good year.

You just now came to this conclusion?

Former Illini (and KU grad asst.) Sean Harrington was doing color. I think he got excited when Griffey hit the shot, as a human being should.
