P.S. Told you guys UCLA was unlikely to beat Georgetown.

Yeah, UCLA looked a mess last night. Which, considering the new players and the opponent, probably wasn't that surprising. He didn't have his best game or even score, but I still was impressed with Kyle Anderson.

Georgetown will present a lot of the same problems for IU that UCLA would have -- they're big all over the court (though their execution is clearly at a higher level, of course). IU is not nearly as big or athletic as they will be when healthy/eligible -- I think they struggled with Georgia, in part, because of that and Georgia isn't good.

Hopefully Hanner & Peter are cleared to play tonight. That will help in terms of interior depth.

Tom Crean said that Hulls is an NBA guard and Georgia will win 22-25 games this year.

Yes, yes he did.

:-k

And both are absurd statements.

Obviously you haven't seen Jordy dunk from the free throw line yet. It was so spectacular they had to burn the tape.

Wait what was that 9 at the front of our score? Been a minute.

Yes, it was the typical "Illinois makes every shot they take" game. Let's hope they don't follow it up with the Bruce Weber specialty of missing all those same shots and scoring 43 points the next game.

It was very ugly, but it was still an ugly half that resulted in a 37-37 score.

And we clearly changed the focus at halftime. We started the second half trying to pound the ball into the post. Because we need to work on it. Also to ID, yes we made everything, but that was also a good display of defense as well. We haven't seen a half like that since Dee's senior year against Mizzou.

Mississippi State has played two games in the Maui invitational, and has not only never led, but has only managed to be within 10 points for a total of 12 minutes between the two games (fell behind 8-0 and 15-4 in both games and never got closer after that).

And they can't even play Chaminade next to feel better about themselves.

I read earlier that Rick Ray only has 6 scholarship players. Hopefully he has some time to build the program.

Butler is up 22 on North Carolina.

They might lose by 30 at this rate.

Carolina is on a run now. Down to 17 with 9:28 to go. Butler had it to 29 a couple of minutes ago.

52 of 108 from the field. 27-71 from 3. 7-10 from the FT line. Just think if he had had a good shooting night! Good lord.

Good game. Really good first 12 minutes of the game. Great rally by Georgetown late as IU missed FTs (by players who never miss FTs). IU just had too many players that could score in bunches. A lot of the ticky-tack fouls went IUs way too.
