I dont think Tebow was really that good down the stretch. The Bears changed their defense and couldn't get any pressure with their 4 man front. Hanie would have been just as effective in Tebow's place.

Regardless of whether you think he was great or not, the point is that he was about a 1000 times better in the 4th quarter than the first 3 quarters. The defense definitely backed off and that helped, but he was throwing balls all over the place except at the receiver in the first 3 quarters and then in the 4th quarter they were darts right to them.

Because I don't watch college football, and really don't pay attention to teams that aren't playing the Bears this was my first Tebow game. I get that he sucks at QB 75%+ of the time and he I guess he is supposedly in your face about his religion.... I don't get all the hate. Tons of athletes do religious stuff.

This game sucked.

You watched the game and you cant figure out why people hate Tebow? This is probably the 3rd most improbable win of the season for him (with the game against Miami and last week against the Vikings being more improbable). He sucks the entire game and you get lulled into a sense of security and then randomly every single thing goes right for him and your head is spinning as you sit there realizing you lost.

THEN you add the religious [expletive] to it and thats why he's hated now. In college it was a little different because he was actually sorta good at that level.

I think most of the dislike for Tebow comes down to him being over hyped by the media. He is basically the Justin Beiber of football. Religion has next to nothing to do with why people dislike him.

He wasn't good in the 4th quarter until the Bears went into prevent the last 2 drives.

It does for me. But that's my issue.

So.. I was going to go to church tonight but then I realized that I have no idea which church I should go to in order to worship Tebow. I know He's Catholic, but Jesus in His first incarnation was Jewish, so I don't know if I should just keep attending Catholic church or pray silently to myself while I wait for a Church of Tebow to open up in Chicago.

Thoughts?

Very true, all began in the National Championship with [expletive] literally creaming in his paints on air.

What? The first drive in the 4th, they ran 3 times and punted, but the next time he led the team down into FG range and on 2nd down he got sacked and lost a fumble. Maybe that's his fault whatever but he was obviously getting going at that point. Tebow was 12-14 at one point in the quarter. He was already turning it on before those last 2 drives.

Really though, is there any reason to bring Cutler and Forte back this year?

Not really, unless they come back next week. They still won't make the playoffs, but the fans would crucify Angelo if they knew Cutler and Forte could play and aren't.

I am picking the Seahawks next week and not looking back.

would you care about his religion if he wasn't over hyped?

I just really don't get the hate. Yes, the media overhypes him but that's not something of his creation. I can't recall him ever talking about how good he is. As far as the religious stuff goes, so what? Lots of athletes wear their faith on their sleeves like that. Can it be obnoxious to see him put bible verses on his stupid eye black? Well yeah of course it is, but I don't hate the guy or wish him to fail.

It bugs me that he makes such a big deal out of it. Of course the media reaction to him amplifies it.

Plus I just don't believe anyone is that pious. I still think he farts in elevators and is a bad tipper.

I don't hate him, I dislike that he gets too much credit for games like today. If the media would say that Tebow is a good game manager on a team that is playing outstanding defense with a really good kicker, then I wouldn't mind him at all.

I'm sure if he was asked he'd admit he sins all the time.

I think the thing that makes me the most angry is that if Cutler is healthy, there is not a doubt in my mind the Bears are easily 10-3 right now.

Yeah, I don't get the whole "Tebow is self-righteous" angle. He's religious and his team has had ridiculous success in part because of his rushing ability. That's really all there is to it.

Oh, right. I forgot about that part.

But who in the (respected) media says that he is a great QB like Rodgers, Brees, or Brady? I think most of the people I hear (Mad Dog, ATH or PTI) look at it for what it is: he's getting great breaks and doesn't turn the ball over. So he's winning.

Is it really so different than someone who idealistic about something non-religious?

He's not hurting anyone. Laugh at him if you want. I do too, actually. If someone actually converts to evangelical Christianity because they watched Tim Tebow score a TD and chalk it up to God, well....I'd say that's pretty hollow.

I actually agree...I think he is setting himself up for a serious PR hit for something trivial.

They'd won both of the last two games by 10 or more.

Unless something crazy happens Denver is going to face Pittsburgh in the first round of the playoffs. Win that game and I'm a believer.
