Quade is obviously not a long-term solution at manager, so what would be the point of letting him "ride out" the contract? After investing this much money into a new front office, I can't imagine the Cubs would go into the season with a lame duck manager who was clearly over his head. I trust Epstein to hire the right guy, whoever that may be. That sure is a good feeling after years of simply hoping to avoid disaster with every Hendry move.
