Wasn't gonna start a thread for this cause it's fairly stupid, Theo thread seemed logical enough.

Was browsing Youtube this morning and came across this. I really can't wait until Wrigley looks and feels like that again:

I was at that game! I still have that fan appreciation poster somewhere. Great find, pitch.

Saw this on MLBTR from ESPN Boston;

http://espn.go.com/blog/boston/red-sox/post/_/id/16415/sox-hope-for-quality-prospect-from-cubs

With the help of a major league source close to the situation, we can narrow down what the Boston Red Sox are asking for as compensation for Theo Epstein going to the Chicago Cubs.

At this stage, the source says, the Sox are hopeful of acquiring one quality minor-league prospect from the Cubs. They’re resigned to not getting a major leaguer from the Cubs, and acknowledge it probably won’t be one of the Cubs’ premium prospects, like a Brett Jackson or Josh Vitters. But the source says the Sox are insisting on acquiring a prospect with a legitimate chance of making it to the big leagues as a contributor.

The Red Sox expect a decision in the coming week, the source said.

Guess the Vitters rumors can go to die now, not that I ever thought he was legit compensation. So who would fit under the legitimate chance of making it as a big league roster contributor? Maybe someone like Dolis, Cerda Beeler?

ABTY at PSD claims to be hearing Carpenter as compensation.

Carpenter is more than I think should be given up, but if it's going to be more than what I think, Carpenter is a good target. He's 26 years old, and he's never really been able to fix his control issues, or use his stuff to strike out enough people to make up for those control issues.

That's what I thought too. Maybe we pushed them this way since we need 40 man flexibility as it is? I think Carpenter is too much, as far as what they "deserve", but if this is who goes, I'm fine with it. We've got plenty of bullpen arms and while he's talented, he's not young and his control may always be hit or miss.

Didn't he have some pissy comment last year or something because he felt he deserved to be called up at a specific time? If that's true, I think his attitude will fit right in with Larry the child.

He threw a fit on Twitter because he wasn't called up in September with the other call ups.

Edit: This was his tantrum

“Nice to know how ppl really feel about you….headed back home for the offseason.”
CCarp37 Chris Carpenter

9 hr drive home... To much time to think bout things, driving myself crazy... #hardworkpaysoffonlysometimesiguess

The SoSH site is getting absolutely hilarious again. They are so dilusional over there its actually a bit sad.

One even said that the Cubs announced an agreement with Theo while he was still under contract from the Red Sox without the Red Sox even having a chance to retain him. How the hell can you possibly believe that?

Another guy says that the Red Sox as a measure of trust and integrity, allowed Theo to go to the Cubs without agreeing on compensation and Theo along with the Cubs proved to be dishonest and lacking integrity. Basically in their eyes, Lucchino said "sure buddy you can go to the Cubs, I'm sure the cubs will bend over backwards to compensate us as we see fit" as if there weren't already weeks of disagreements over the value of compensation.

Haha I love this forum. Probably the dumbest and most irrationally biased forum I've ever seen.

I would be OK if it was Carpenter. Could be a decent reliever but he'll always have arm/control problems.

Ditto. I like the theoretical possibility of a three-digit fastball reliever, but there's so much risk there, and - maybe this is lame - the Cubs have to open up a 40-man spot anyway.

considering how many people got their hopes up that logan morrison would be coming back in the zambrano trade, i have a hard time laughing at red sox fans.
