LaRussa is sticking with Carpenter after 88 pitches through 6 innings on 3 days rest.

I will be amazed if Carpenter survives the season next year.

I'll be surprised if he survives the night. Post game party at Tony's house, drinks provided in vehicles on the way.

David Freese now has the most postseason RBI ever with 21.

Craig had 1 opposite field HR all season, he's had 2 in the playoffs.

But, but, this "good" world series worthy team.

Clutch.

That ball 4 call was clutch.

side note, i really need to bandwagon onto a good team. the sixers are worthless (and locked out), the flyers just traded away two of their best players and lost a game in which they scored 8 goals, the eagles have been one of the biggest disappointments in the nfl and the cubs are the cubs. the only team i support that is successful is penn state women's [expletive] volleyball. and i suppose the usa swim team.

Despite the probability of Pujols signing elsewhere being low, I'd love to how the Cardinals would fare without him. After all, they've got the great Craig Allen, David Freese and least we forget, Ryan Theriot to make up the difference.

It's so easy to win a World Series. All you need is 2 good hitters and a good pitcher. The rest will take care of itself. Go ahead and sign an aging slow slugger who was a bench player in last year's playoffs. I'm sure he will be good for a .950 OPS even though he hasn't hit that well in 3 years. Oh and stick him in the OF where he hasn't played in 4 years. And for the rest of the team, make sure to stock up on 26 year old "prospects" and just throw em out there and watch them explode into offensive weapons. You could probably make your 3B a 28 year old non-prospect who quit baseball during his college years and that should do.

Bullpen? Don't worry about the bullpen, it will sort itself out. Just sign a bunch of retreads, has beens and nobodies. Even if they suck in the regular season, don't worry! They will suddenly become unhittable as soon as the playoffs start and be the backbone to your championship run. Don't worry about things like managers, strategy, fundamental baseball ,etc. Your team will overcome it no matter how amazingly incompetent they seem. Down to your last strike prior to being eliminated? Dude just hit a game tying 2 run triple. It's so easy, how do other teams not following this formula every season?

I hate that Walmart commercial. Can anyone explain the point of layaway? If someone doesn't have enough money to buy something, why don't they just wait until they do and then go buy it?

you had me at "i hate walmart" (even though that's not really what you wrote)

Lose your ace pitcher in spring training, as he's coming off a career year? No problem! Just replace him with aforementioned 27 year old "prospect." And when that "prospect" only slightly overachieves, trade for a career underachiever, who will magically straighten things out. Who needs Wainwright?

Oh, by the way, McCarver and Buck go [expletive] yourselves with another dig at the Cubs - that 1945 Series reference.

Oh well laugh all they want, Joe buck still as to be Joe buck. We win.

Are you [expletive] serious? I'm not watching -- what'd those assholes say?
