So now they're saying they called the hold on #29, a player who doesn't exist on the Bears.

(Refs confused by Bears awesome play) Um, that was a really weird play. The Bears had to do something illegal there, right? Ya, I think so. There is a #21 on their return team. Let's call a hold on that guy.

I rewatched that play several times and paused it over and over. There was only one guy that was ever even engaged with a Packer, it was on the opposite side of the field, and it was not a hold. They seriously just made up a call.

My guess is that a ref jumped the gun on throwing a flag because the play didn't look right initially, and then just made something up so he didn't look like an idiot throwing a flag for no reason.

Let's not pretend that the Bears would've been able to score again even if that BS hold were not called.

But F the refs.

All I wanted was a chance.

RE: The holding call on Graham.

The referee threw the flag based upon something that happened as the ball was in the air, it was not called on anything during the actual return by Knox. The flag was thrown earlier in the play than the announcers were acknowledging. That being said, I didn't see Graham hold anyone (the camera angles didn't help) as they were setting up their coverage during the punt.

Rodgers is good but gb is terrible and they should lose 6-8 games easy. Refs hande them the game.

The Bears never lose to good teams.

even with my meager expectations the Bears managed to underachieve, embarrass themselves, and look utterly dysfunctional. And the O-line wasn't even that bad for the most part! Incredible.

I'm gonna listen to Doug and OB for more schadenfreude

I was watching the play from the point of the punt. Again, there was only one Bear engaged with a Packer the whole time even when setting up the return, and it wasn't a hold.

At this point, losses are a good thing to me, because I want to see Lovie and Jerry sacked. Everyone gone, clean house.

Yeah, how dare we lose consecutive games to the last two teams to win a Super Bowl. FOR SHAME.

loll

Have you been watching the last two games? Our team offensively is garbage with no end in sight. 2007ish bad.

So far our offense has not looked any worse this year than last year.

Need to go on a bit of a run here but we can do it. Saw some good things today. The O-Line was much better, and no injuries in this game that I'm aware of. As for the phantom holding call, I also think the flag was thrown while the ball was still in the air. Hopefully Larry Mayer will have an answer for us as I'm sure this question will be asked in this week's Chalk Talk.

All those idiots are going to do is rail against Cutler, bitch about the play calling balance and ignore that:

-the defense had zero ability to stop Green Bay. They moved at will.

-the running game isn't used because it sucks. our line sucks

-cutler is the only remotely interesting thing about the offense

cv is shellshocked from his Patriots' losing like he did today, so he can be forgiven not paying that much attention to the Bears.

And like others have said, the call would have pissed me off a lot more if the chances of recovering an onside kick and then turning it into points with no timeouts left were better than they are. I understand wanting the chance though.

has green bay ever beaten chicago clean?

of course. but there were blatant missed calls today that really hurt. The no-call PI on Woodson and the "hold" on Graham were huge, game altering. also, its not like GB was incredibly dirty, but the refs were flat out horrible.

That looked like the exact line of thinking too. I couldn't believe that there was a penalty on that. Our coverage units have some of the worst fundamentals in the league and we were bailed out on a play where we didn't even look at the ball.
