Three straight weeks of being an underdog, Packers are favored by 3.5. Lot of potential implications to come out of this early season matchup. It's Packers week. It's the CG rematch. The game will either leave GB as the odds on favorite to win the division, or completely throw everything into flux as we enter the middle part of the season.

Back to back chitshows like last week will leave the fan base and media up in arms, and may get Cutler killed.

Bears might need to get lucky this week, but Lovie's teams tend to play well vs GB.

GO PACKERS!

I'm actually surprised Packers are only favored by 3.5. I would have thought more after the pounding the Bears took against the Saints. Maybe because they're at home or maybe because the Bears always seem to hold the Packers O in check. No reason not to expect another grind-it-out, hard-nosed affair.

Most of the pounding was after some injuries. It was still a 3 point game late in the 3rd quarter. I'm thinking that line might drift more in the Packers favor if the Bears injury reports are....unfavorable.

Nick Collins will be out you would think for the Packers and Williams, I think is questionable although he wants to play. With those two out the Packers secondary will be weakened big time. Combine that with the Bears ability to hold the Packers offense down and with it being in Chicago I am not the most confident about this game. I don't see how it's anything but a toss up.

Huge game especially since the Panthers game doesn't look like it's gonna be the cake walk it once seemed and after that we are going to go to Detroit and play ok front of a fired up team and fan base making their first MNF appearence at home in years.

Somehow we need to get through this stretch 3-2 I don't care how we do it. After that we still play the Chargers, Eagles Packers and Lions among Other teams so while the schedule does get slightly easier there are still a ton of elite teams standin in our way. When all is said and done I think the Bears will end up with a top 5 SOS if not number 1

GB is favored by 3.5 on the road so obviously people don't think it's a toss up. I think they are an easy pick in this game and will be chosen by just about everybody.

Maybe because the Packers barely beat the [expletive] Panthers.

Dislocated knee for Carimi, out a month

Might as well keep him out through the bye then. That'd mean he'd be out for GB, Car, @Det, Min, and @TB in London. Back in time for Philly on 11/7.

If he's healthy enough to play in 4 weeks there's no reason to purposefully hold him out longer. He'll get an extended break after that game to recover from his first post-injury action.

From Biggs

Carimi suffered a knee sprain, according to Smith, but an NFL source said the player has a knee subluxation (a partial dislocation), an injury he suffered previously at Wisconsin.

The good news is that there is no ligament damage. The bad news is Carimi likely will miss the next two games vs. the Green Bay Packers and Carolina Panthers. He left the stadium Sunday night wearing a brace, and said he was confident he would be OK.

Two weeks would be great but I'm not holding my breath.

Yeah the iPhone really botched that post up for me. My bad.

Do you always only consider one side of the equation, or is it just when it comes to the Packers?

2 weeks, a month - all better than I expected for Carimi.

Hope Chris Harris can go.

Agreed. Hope this isn't something semi-chronic, though. But I'll take it.

Well it's not quite the same as deliberately failing to change protections to prove a point, but the result is the same. Apparently Cutler got kicked in the throat and couldn't bark out instructions loud enough for the line to hear snap counts and adjustments over the crowd noise. It makes sense considering how many edge rushers came completely unblocked near the end of the game.

Didn't even think of that possibility when UMF mentioned Cutler was kicked in the throat.

Should make everyone feel a little bit better about the line going forward despite Carimi's injury.

Nick Collins out for the year sucks so bad. Bigger than any injury we had last year on defense. The worst part is Green Bay was getting shredded in the secondary BEFORE Collins got hurt.

Before the year I picked the Bears to win this game. Collins going down is huge. And it's not like I don't think Green Bay can't win, I just don't like their chances this weekend.

Cutler should kick Kellen Davis in the throat. What was he thinking out there on Sunday? The first time might be forgiveable, but it continued numerous times throughout the game.

Not sure I totally understand why you couldn't move to some sort of silent snap count if the QB can't be heard by the entire line. With crowd noise at such extreme levels, you would think they would at least practice it on the rare occasion it might be needed. Especially since they were playing in the one of the loudest stadiums in the NFL on Sunday.

If the Packers lose, it won't be because your secondary didn't show up. It'll be because your offense or defensive line didn't succeed.
