I'm predicting a drubbing from the Packers. The Bears will be without Bennett and probably Roy Williams. I havent heard any news on Barber either.

Bad O-line, horrible receivers and a defense that has to be on the field 24/7.

31-10 Packers.

I believe they wore them in a night game against SF IN 2004 and won. They again wore them in 2005 against the Niners and won. Can't remember who they wore them against in 2006... It was probably either against BUF, SF, or MIA. 2 of those we won. In 2007 we looked awful in losing against Detroit. Don't remember who we wore them against in 08 but in 09 I believe we beat the Browns in them. Last year we didn't wear them.

So we are somewhere between 3-3 and 5-1 wearing the Orange jerseys.

Mia, we lost. Pretty sure. Jason Taylor killed Grossman several times that game.

and in reality, I'm completey wrong

But more importantly, the Patriots are 2-0!

Williams almost played last week, so I don't see why he wouldn't go this week barring a setback.

No idea about the severity of Bennett's injury.

Angelo on the offensive line:

Asked if he could've done more to build depth on the line, Angelo told the team's website: “We did everything you could possibly do to that position. Nobody did more than the Chicago Bears. We drafted a player (Carimi) in the first round. We brought in a player (Spencer) with a lot of NFL experience who is still in his prime. ... Injuries happen, and then you have to adjust accordingly.

That's "everything" you could have done?

They made offers to the two other best linemen available in FA, and both rejected better offers to return to their teams. Besides that, there weren't a whole lot of clear upgrades available in free agency this offseason. They let Kreutz walk.

I have a tough time arguing they didn't do what they could this offseason. The big problem is that it should've never gotten to the point it was this offseason.

Maybe last year. But the dolt conveniently glosses over the fact that he ignored the 5 MAN POSITION GROUP for half a decade in the draft. It's 5 positions you have to fill. Occasionally spending an early pick on it isn't going to cut it. They have to overcompensate just to get back to a normal level of attention.

It also doesn't help when your most recent 1st round OL pick comes in pre-injured and sucks.

I have SUCH a hard time giving Angelo any credit for trying to right the ship when he has been so wrong int he past. While its true he tried to do a lot for the o-line this year, hes been so shortsighted in the past I just want to pile on him for the overall failure, including what he didn't accomplish this year. And he still had cap space, he truly could have BOUGHT an o-lineman if he wanted to.

Carimi? I thought he had that injury in the past, not that they drafted him with the injury.

I'm not necessarily defending Angelo, but who exactly was in FA that would have resulted in a significant upgrade? We tried getting Colon from Pittsburgh but it didn't work out. We drafted a starting RT and signed Spencer who from what I've seen is solid. You can't just get 5 new guys to play OL in one offseason.

oh, that "most recent". I get it. he may have sucked as a LT, but he seems to be fine at guard. idk, if he continues to improve, in the grand scheme of things, was that such a bad pick?

Pretty much, yes. You don't spend 1st round picks on guys who might be okay guards. At the time it didn't seem bad. But we heard about pre-existing back problems, and he's been a terrible 1st round pick so far. Angelo has a history of sucking at the offensive line, both with Tampa and the Bears. He's yet to draft even one good starter in a decade at the job in Chicago. It would be one thing if he spent a lot of 2nd/3rd/4th round picks while adding depth, but the guy either spends a 1st round pick (2 busts and a don't know yet) or a 6th, ignoring everybody else.

It's like Hendry with the outfield situation for years. They were desperate to fill it so they had to get Soriano, and the Bears have been desperate to fill the line so they've had to spend insane money on Pace plus 2 recent 1st round picks. Very poor management of the group.

I totally get questioning Angelo on his management of the group, especially not drafting them with regularity and in different levels (both in respect to drafted rounds and expectant talent). But implying his 1st rd picks are garbage whenever he pulls the trigger is a bit misleading.

I think this is new:

The Chicago Bears are bracing to be without rookie right tackle Gabe Carimi for an “extended period of time” after the first-round draft pick suffered a subluxation of his right knee in Sunday’s loss at New Orleans.

The partial dislocation is an injury he dealt with before when at Wisconsin. While line coach Mike Tice didn’t give a timetable for a return, Tice made it clear it won’t be soon.

“Gabe had a serious injury,” Tice said. “He’s had it before. Hopefully, it’s not going to be forever but it’s going to be an extended period of time. It’s unfortunate because he was really playing good football for us and now you’ve got to replace it. He’s an elite player, so you lost an elite player.”

I read yesterday that while it's not as serious as originally thought, he will still miss 4-6 weeks. Trade for a tackle?

I think grabbing Waters after he got cut by KC would have been a solid move. Not that the guards have been bad, but it would have been nice to have another guy playing his actual position.

God. Stop with the rubber banding crap. If he's going to be out for weeks, just say it up front on Monday.

This is horrible!

The game will be close throughout, but I do think the Packers will win (shocking, I know.) The Bears will play us tough.

I don't know if it's stupid sports radio talk up here in Wisconsin, but they were saying today that the Packers are thinking about shifting Woodson to safety to replace Collins. I would think much of that move would be contingent on Williams playing this week. The Packers use Woodson a lot as a hybrid CB/S/LB so idk how big of a change this would be for the defense.

If the Bears and Packers had a Week 17 matchup and the former was 15-0 while the latter was 0-15 and the former was playing their starters the entire game, who do you think would win?

That same article about Carimi being out a few weeks says they hope to have him back before the off week, so its closer to the originally speculated 4 weeks.

Earl Bennett will be out this week. Lance Louis was limited in practice Wednesday, and may be tried at RT next week depending on what Omiyale does. Moving around the young guy, Louis rather than the "experienced" guy in Spencer...

Chris Harris and Roy Williams were both limited on Wednesday. Harris will be a game time decision. Williams won't speculate on his status.

Wright didn't practice.

Everyone will say the Bears luck is evening out from last year, but wasn't last year an evening out from all the injuries in 2009?

So you're saying next year we should be injury free? Sweet.

What the hell kind of question is this? Talk about outrageous hypotheticals.
