That game was painful to watch. It was definitely the Giants game from last year all over again. I'm hopeful that they can make the necessary adjustments like they did last year. Each time the O-Line caved in, it just gave the Saints defensive line that much more intensity for the next play.

Weird that each time a guy got through untouched on Cutler's blind side, I kept cursing Webb, and when they would show the replay, it was Kellen Davis that was not even faking a block, let alone actually attempting a block, before he'd run downfield like a wide receiver.

I'm starting to think that the Bears needed a game like this more than a tough fought game like they had in game 1. And my quick notes.....

Another game like that Kellen Davis, and you can clean out your locker.

The Devin Hester experiment is over. Move him back to just returning kicks and punts. I swear he purposely drops balls in the middle of the field for the sole purpose of getting that play removed from the play book.

Sam Hurd should be cut. I don't care how good he supposedly is on special teams.

Johnny Knox is one of the fastest receivers in the league. When the Saints are lining up 7 or 8 guys in the box, Knox should be catching touchdown passes. That's how you combat the pass rush. That's how the Saints opened up the Bears defense. The receiver got behind the last line of defense and got a quick 6.

Sanzenbacher is showing all of the signs of being the next Tom Waddle, except for actually catching the ball. First and foremost responsibility. That the receivers weren't catching balls only added to the pass rush even more. It became a game within a game by the Saints defensive line to see who would clobber Cutler next. Atrocious.

Martz has to figure a way to adjust the offense when his current plan is being abused so badly.

I certainly hoped for more help on the offensive line and in the receiver department this past offseason. The receiver corps is just plain horrible at this moment. Earl Bennett is the only guy I think Cutler can trust out there, which is pathetic.

I don't think the Saints are necessarily a better team than the Bears. They just outplayed us. They made the necessary adjustments and the Bears didn't. The Giants weren't a better team than the Bears last year. It's one game and a game that they probably needed a week before having to play a team we absolutely know is one of the best teams in the league.

The Bears had an almost impossible task yesterday. The Saints are a great team, coming off a loss and playing in their home opener. That's a tough game for any team to win. Major issues on your offensive line, I would expect Capers will dial up the blitz next week. I am having Matt Forte nightmares. Pay that man.

Also couldn't understand why they didn't pull Cutler when it was clear that the QB was only in there to take the brunt of the abuse, but I suppose if they did pull Cutler, he'd just be getting abused by the media as being weak again.

Personally, if a QB is going to be sent out onto the front lines without any weapons against an army full of angry souls, I prefer that it be the back up QB, not the franchise QB.

At this rate they may just use up all the mileage he has left on his body this season and get somebody else next year.

Carimi to have an MRI today. He was wearing a brace, but apparently saying he would be ok.

Hopefully he's right.

That would at least make me feel a little better.

26 rushing attempts against the Falcons, 11 yesterday against the Saints. I understand that we ran more against Atlanta because we had a lead, but there is still no excuse for 11 total rushing attempts considering the game was close through three quarters. I know the dump-off was useful, but yesterday we saw the pass-happy offense that got Martz into trouble at the beginning of last year. This line seems to block for the run better than the pass, thus the run needs to be utilized more.

I do not agree with the "we need to run more, passing gets us in trouble" concept. Running more doesn't win them more games. It was a close game for a while, but it got out of control in a hurry. And the offense couldn't do anything.

Lovie disagrees with you. If I recall you and me argued about this last year. Can you honestly say that play selection has no effect on the outcome of the game? When you have a RB as good as Forte and pass protection as bad as the Bears, why should they keep drawing up a pass-heavy gameplan?

Dislocated right knee for Carimi, out a month

BEEN THERE

same. Did you have to have someone you were with straighten your leg out so your knee would go back in place? So effed up to see your knee not where it is supposed to be.

Roman Harper said NFL head of officials called #Saints to say his hit on #Bears QB Jay Cutler was clean, penalty shouldnt have been called.

I don't think anybody here had a problem with the legality of the hits on Cutler, merely the frequency.

however, the hit on Bennett was certainly questionable.the hit/flag on Cutler just looked like a make-up call, if there are such things

I'll agree with that.

Talked to a buddy of mine who is a college ref and he said basically the same thing that troubled me with that Harper hit on Cutler, basically that Harper had no way of knowing that Cut didn't still have the ball in his hands since he got rid of it simultaneously with the hit.
