Not that I'm trying to defend him, but OMC wasn't all that bad during the game. He's been kind of a dick after the game, but if the Bears had won I'd be doing the same so whatever.

Yeah, agreed. Though I found his Bears didn't earn the first TD shtick funny and odd.

That was supposed to be tongue in cheek. Hard to tell tone in the written word I suppose. And I'm not sure how I was overly antagonistic after the game. The only thing I really commented on post game was to defend the assertion that somehow the Saints weren't any good, which I found odd considering they just beat up the Bears and nearly beat the Packers last week.

Because a lot of the Bears fans here are Bears fans like they're Cubs fans; they love being miserable and talking about how miserable their team is and how miserable it is being a fan of their miserable team. If they concede that the Saints are a good team then they can't truly maximize their miserable-ness as they can by acting like the Bears lost to a bad team.

Ahh, my bad on that.

Yeah I mean, you could pretty much say that about every TD scoring drive.

My grandfather once told me that the forward pass was once considered illegal. It days like Sunday I wish football would go back to those days. {sighs}

Don't know what to say that hasn't been said already. Went to see an awesome movie (Drive and yes it was awesome) and then got home to watch the highlights and it wasn't surprising to find that Cutler was beat up again. What infuriated me the most was seeing Cutler in the game late. What's the point of having a backup QB if you are going to have Cutler take unnecessary hits late in a game that is a route? Damnit to hell, why can't the Bears ever have a decent offensive line?

And to top it off, we have the Packers coming in next week. Not looking forward to this game. Maybe I'll go watch Warrior next Sunday.

I start each Sunday rooting for the bears, but this thread slowly turns me against them and by the third quarter i [expletive] hate them.

I follow the same philosophy with all Chicago sports game threads. Only read them when they're winning. If things turn for the worse, it's time to bail.

Well that was a nice thorough beat down. Felt kind of inevitable after the strange ego boost the Bears got from the Atlanta game. This pass defense still scares the crap out of me. And the offensive line doesn't have the ability to block enough to hang in shoot outs. Not to mention they have no depth. Definitely the type of game that reminds you 9 wins might be the best they do.

Doug Buffone on Cutler

""I've always thought about run the football and stuff like that, and all that crap. B.S. You better be able to throw it and score. That's where it's at. When the Bears got Cutler, the people who jump all over him are ignorant. We haven't had a quarterback like him. I'd have given my right arm to play with a quarterback like him. It comes down to those two guys. Maybe (the Packers) have better receivers, who knows, this and that, we have a shot at it. The shot is not only for this year, it's for down the road.""

You lose your Bear fan card.

After yesterday's game, most bears fans lost their fan card. Who you kidding?

Buffone is horrible.

I will say that Cutler overthrew a number of receivers, and that annoyed me, but there was so much more to take away from that game...

Isn't Buffone strongly backing Cutler there?

I think Brenedon is commenting on Buffone's lack of humanitarian work.

Wow...talk about misreading. You're right...I skimmed it and somehow took something completely different out of it. Ignore my dumb ass.

I've never read the guy before, but you're right.
When the Bears got Cutler, the people who jump all over him are ignorant.

The entire paragraph is incoherent, but this was my favorite part.

Did he right this or was he just quoted off a radio interview. Lots of people sound like that when being interviewed.

I guess that would make more sense. If that's the case, I don't get the point of transcribing a guy who isn't in a state of mind to hold the same thought for more than six words at a time.
