It's clear if we get behind and have to drop back every play, we're pretty much dead. Our OLine is just as bad as it was last year.

The reason we play bend-but-don't-break, and play ball control offense, is to try to starve the other team out so we don't get into this type of situation. We can't survive it once we're down 10-14 points late.

Cutler's going to wind up in the hospital with this group up front. If Carimi's out, it'll rob him of important development time and maybe even worse if his knee is really torn up.

I think the Saints are pretty good. We got our asses beat today, by a flat-out better ballclub.

Whoever the Bears beat guy is on espn 1000 is saying that the aints players were taking cheap shots at bears players whenever they had a chance. Cutler got kicked in the throat during one of those moments.

Classy

This was what caused Omiyale to go nuts and have a near fight. It was where Cutler tried to punch the guy while on the ground. Dunbar, I believe. I couldn't believe no one said anything about it on the replay on FOX.

why the hell did Frank hold back? its not like him missing any time would hurt the bears. There is likely no drop-off from his play to the 5th best tackle on this team, or practice squad.

he should have flat out mauled a few saints.

QFT. The Saints look very unimpressive. Not to mention your sig is kinda corny

What does that say about your Bears if the Saints look unimpressive to you? Are the Bears the worst team in the NFL or something? Would the Saints have to have scored 60 points to be considered good?

it's just a questionable conclusion to reach: "the Lions are thoroughly dismantling the Chiefs in epic fashion, doubtful any of that is due to the Lions own abilities..."

I think your conclusion is questionable. Obviously the Lions are much improved and dangerous, but their win wasn't "epic fashion" considering the Bills did it one week ago. Saying they beat 10 win teams is true, but not indicative of how those teams are this year or last year for that matter. I'm a Chiefs fan, but they won like 4 of their games on luck. Had them pegged for 6-10 this year. Take away their best defensive and offensive playmakers, and they're a 4 win team.

Yeah, but the Lions of the past would find a way to lose to even those kinds of teams.

I don't know how good the Lions are yet, but they're definitely improved. They might have done something similar last year if Stafford was healthy. It's really all on him. He's a pretty good QB. If he goes down, the Lions will spiral down again.

See I just don't know. We were down 3 with the ball midway through the 3rd despite a hell of a lot going wrong up to that point. They were the better team today sure just like baltimore was the better team over Pittsburgh last week. One week later the ravens lose by 2 scores to a probably mediocre titans team

Also as for the line they are probably bad no matter what but if you take 2 starters out you get this.

I guess I just don't understand why Angelo feels the need to develop a line. It's like we have the qb we need to win, the rb we need, in general the defense we need. All that says a team that's expecting to contend. But then you get to one of if not the most importa t unit on a tram and you see 4 unproven developing guys and Garza who is mediocre at best. If we didn't have the resources I would understand but the fact that we actually have a ton of resources at our disposal leads me to scratch my head and wonder why were wasting abyear of our Ds prime.

Yes, I think the Saints are good. It's early yet, they played terribly against the Pack on D, but it was a weird offseason. Week 1 -- it was week 1. It means *something*, but teams put it together as the season wears on.

As for Angelo and his O-Line philosophy, he just doesn't know what he's doing. I wish he would give over that portion of the job to someone who has a better handle on it. His forte is delivering talent on the defensive side of the ball. I fear we will never be a great offense with Angelo. I don't know what the solution is. The best I can come up with is to have the man delegate that portion of his role to someone with a better track record of success. Unfortunately, that will probably never happen. And so here we are. Another year, another terrible OLine product. It sucks.

No you aren't. First, I wouldn't have said the Seahawks looked unimpressive if they had just beat the crap out of the Saints. Second, I fail to see how the Saints look unimpressive when they gave arguably the best team in football a fight to the finish in their own house last week and then dominated the Bears this week. The only thing about them so far that was unimpressive was their D last week, but of course that was against the Packers, so who knows. All of football knows the D is their weakness anyways. It's not like this was some fluke victory. The Saints are one of the better teams in football and have been for several years now.

Seems like sour grapes to me.

Well at least you have to call the Bears good, otherwise your win today means little :)

Of course they are good team They handled a good Falcons team pretty dang well last week; played in the NFC Champ game last week.

And even if I didn't think they were a good team, I'd still act like they were because it makes the Saints look better to beat a good team. That's why I don't understand all the negativity about the Saints around here. Seems like if you got beat up in a game you'd want it to at least be a good team that beat you.

There needs to be more trolling in this thread.

I'm hardly trolling. I've had a back and forth with my Bears friends on NSBB since the 2006 game (except for you because it appears you've only been here two years). Second, I'm pretty sure the other posters are doing a fine job defending themselves and are grown ups enough to handle it.

With no Carimi, we're playing for draft position. I wonder what the Bears take in the first round.

a kick returner. i mean since Hester has clearly failed and the league is getting tougher on returns, we HAVE to invest in more talent there. That or a 2nd tier safety who can play special teams.

Facetious, but probably 1/2 true. The Bears are probably not going to take OL in the 1st. Carimi and Webb will get another year at OT, unless they are completely terrible. And the Bears probably don't think interior OL is a first round worthy pick (considering they've never picked an C or G in the 1st). I'd like them to go for Mike Brewster to play C for the next 10 years, but if they don't, it has to be a WR. This draft is loaded at WR.

FWIW, I still think this team picks between 18-25. They are not as bad as today. They can be as good as Week 1.

Brewster is legit, I'd take him 20-30. I would have last year too if he turned pro (and Carimi wasn't around).

Early thought is to go WR since they won't go OL.

What you were doing was going into an extremely pro bears game thread where you were the only Saints fan amongst 25 Bears fans and spend the game antagonizing Bears fans. Whether it's crying about the Bears not "deserving" their TD early on to screaming about how awesome Brees is to answering and arguing every frustrated comment. I don't see how your posts brought any value to your friends in the thread. Don't you post on a Saints forum frequently every week except this one? I'm sure they'd appreciate your posts more.

I actually like you as a poster, I just didn't see the point of a lot of your posts in this game thread.

I'm sure it would have been fine if y'all had won...

Aren't you the guy a few months ago who brought up the 2006 NFC Champ Game Thread? Saying how fun the back and forth was? But I guess that was OK because the Bears won.

And I like you guys, that's why I posted here instead of the other place. I don't post all that often on the Saints forum. I mainly just make the gifs. This is a CUBS forum after all and while I'm very aware the amount of Bears people, I wasn't aware it was an exclusive thread. I thought you people accepted that I was going to post in the Bears/Saints threads like I always had and none of you took issue in the last week while I was posting here. But again, you lost this time, so it's some terrible crime.

But ya, sorry you lost.

My poor wife bought me tickets to this game for my birthday and I really feel like I should refund her money to her. What a miserable showing!

I was surprised how well attended the game was by Bears fans.

Holy [expletive], yes. All Bears game threads should just have imb's post as the title.

Not that I'm trying to defend him, but OMC wasn't all that bad during the game. He's been kind of a dick after the game, but if the Bears had won I'd be doing the same so whatever.

Yeah, agreed. Though I found his Bears didn't earn the first TD shtick funny and odd.
