And Billups was claimed by the Clippers.

Is Mo Williams going somewhere? Based on his comments I doubt Billups wants to come off the bench, and Williams probably feels the same way. Plus they have a young promising backup in Bledsoe, who is currently injured. He is a UFA next year so someone will probably be willing to trade for him for cap space. My guess is he backs up Billups until Bledsoe comes back and then is either traded or waived.

if the lakers don't get paul or dwight this offseason is going to be a massive disaster for them.

Yeah I don't think they would trade Odom for a late 20's draft pick and a $9 million trade exemption if they didn't think they had a great shot at acquiring a superstar whether it be Paul, Howard or even someone else that hasn't been made available yet.

not to mention they pissed off the entire team and basically made pau gasol cry.

He cries over everything. He cries when he scrapes his knee, he cries when he's out of chocolate milk, he cries when he's doing long division and he has a remainder left over.

Assuming Billups even shows up...

And supposedly they revisited the McBob for Mayo deal and got it done.

The Indiana Pacers have had their sights set on Memphis Grizzlies guard OJ Mayo for some time, and today they have finally found a way to get him. The Pacers have agreed to sign and trade Josh McRoberts along with Brandon Rush to the Grizzlies for Mayo.

Yup. The Pacers are continuing to chase Jamal Crawford. I don't think they necessarily need another shooting guard, but it doesn't sound like he'll cost that much if he comes either.

The Pacers have (pretty quietly) made some very good moves the past couple years and now have a rather formidable team. I admit some confusion about why they feel the need to chase Crawford (who I doubt signs) when Mayo was seemingly in the bag.

I think Bird's whole idea with this is the Pacers don't have a superstar to give the ball to at the end of the game to score. So the more viable threats out there keeps the defense honest.

Saying that, even without getting Mayo or Crawford they're still in good shape. And have done a very respectable job at becoming more interesting and even relevant again. Will be fun to watch.

If the Pacers ever acquired a superstar, not even necessarily a top tier James/Howard/Durant type, they would be scary in a hurry.

Otherwise I see this team having a late-80s Cavs/mid 00's Bulls sort of upside.

So...the current iteration of the Atlanta Hawks.
