Non-draft discussion here. Looks like it'll be mostly lockout related, cuz it just doesn't seem like they're even to the point of being serious....

The union for NBA players spoke out Wednesday about how livid they are that owners are not only asking for $7 to $8 billion in concessions in a proposed new collective bargaining agreement, but also are asking players to give back $160 million that was withheld from their paychecks last season.

The $160 million was collected under the so-called "escrow tax" system to ensure that players received no more than 57 percent of basketball-related income. That money is scheduled to be disbursed to players in August.

The players have to concede on the money. The league is losing too much of it and the small market teams are paying dearly. Let's see a hard cap and some revenue sharing.

That will look really weird in 30 years when people who werent around to see Artest play, will read about how a man named World Peace charged into the stands and started punching fans.

So according to a "source" the NBA will take back their $62M flex cap option and push for a $45M hard cap once a lockout begins.

I really hope this "source" is just a negotiating tactic, otherwise there won't be a 2011/12 NBA season.

It's gotta be. The owners would be committing suicide if they stuck to that offer.

Tommy Craggs at deadspin unearths some financial documents from the past Nets ownership that shows how NBA owners cooks the books legally to show losses when they're actually profitable: http://deadspin.com/5816870/

The player's union already knows all this, so it won't have any bearing on the lockout, but it's interesting.

No NBA deal. Lockout will begin at midnight.

Wonder if they miss a season if Kobe calls it quits. Same goes for Garnett and Duncan.

Duncan and Garnett very well might, they are both post players who would be about 37 years old. I doubt Kobe would though.

How are you and your family doing, fine I hope. I am in my Adv. Chemistry class writing you a letter, so that tell you how much I care for you. I decide to write you because I felt that I made you look pretty rotten after the last night. I want to tell you that I am sorry, and hope that you except my apologie. I know that you feelings was hurt whenever I loss my necklace or had it stolen.

I was really happy when you gave me my honest coin money that I won off the bet. I want to thank you for letting me hold your annual. I show it to everyone at school. Everyone think you are a very pretty young lady and I had to agree because it is very true. Please don't let this go to your head. (smile) I sorry to say that I can't go to the game on my birthday because my father is taking the whole basketball team out to eat on my birthday. Please don't be mad because I am trying get down there a week from Feb. 14. If I do get the chance to come please have some activity for us to do together.
