Saito is a closer.

 

The only one close to Wood may be Latroy Hawkins-16G/15.1. Both middle relievers, but Hawkins has never been asked to close out a game this year.

 

Wood is 24G/24 and 3 blown saves.

- Hawkins makes three times the salary as Wood (who also hasn't been asked to close out games - the "blown saves" are leads lost in the 8th). Hawkins has a good era, but his peripherals are no better than Kerry's. Win: Kerry.

my favorite part of that post is the "saito is a closer" thing... yes, if you stopped paying attention after 2008 then he's a closer. meanwhile wood, who was closing games in 2010 for the indians, is a middle reliever. this is what it looks like when someone combines a poor grasp of the game with an irrational disdain for a certain player.
