5/10 StL (Carpenter) @ CHC (Z) 7:05 WGN/MLBN

Cardinals vs Cubs

Tuesday 5/10, 7:05 PM at Wrigley Field

Chris Carpenter, RHP

0-2, 4.19 ERA

Away: 0-1, 5.50 ERA, 1.556 WHIP

Carpenter is off to a rocky start in 2011 and has yet to record a win through his first seven outings. He got hit hard in his last start, on Wednesday vs. Florida, when he allowed six runs (four earned) in six frames and made two errors.

Carlos Zambrano, RHP

4-1, 4.23 ERA

Home: 0-1, 4.26 ERA, 1.053 WHIP

Zambrano picked up the win in his last outing against the Dodgers, his 10th straight win on the road. He has yet to win at home this season in three starts. Against the Cardinals last year, Zambrano was 2-0 with a 2.03 ERA.

While you may think a Carp vs. Z outing wouldn't be looking good for the Cubs, so far this year the two pitchers are pretty evenly cruddy. Hopefully Z can build on his last outing. Of course, the MLB.com article previewing this one is leading with "Theriot's return to Wrigley" like that's something that should actually be cared about.

GIFs will come later.

We're going to have to do something about that second shirt when Pujols is a Cub next year.

I'm there there will be plenty of south side stands that will rebrand the shirts as is and sell them.

I remember reading just a few posts during one of Z's other starts and someone posted something simular. Maybe he is just posting the same thing hoping Z will give the same results as last time someone said that?

Of course now that I've explained this to you I have broken the magic of the superstition. You're not supposed to explain it, isn't that how it works?

Horrible Cardinals homer writes horrible column about Theriot and the Cubs. http://www.stltoday.com/sports/columns/jeff-gordon/article_210aee4c-7b0a-11e0-9773-001a4bcf6878.html

Apparently Raphael Soriano is the Cubs new outfielder, and apparently the Cubs committed some grave injustice by trading Theriot away. The column is also littered with third grade grammar errors. At least Koyie Hill had a likable quote though.

“There's probably a decent chance he's going to feel how hard the dirt is around the home-plate batters' box,” Cubs catcher Koyie Hill told the Chicago Tribune after Theriot made his remark. “At least once, maybe once an at-bat.

“I don't know how long it's going to take. I want to get an apology out of him, and until the whole team, the whole organization kind of feels satisfied.”

Z said something in the off season about Theriot hitting the dirt also. If Theriot gets beaned, I guarantee it starts a bean ball war with Carpenters whiny bitch ass on the mound. The guy cant go a start anymore without starting [expletive] with someone it seems.

Yup, light hitting, poor fielding middle infielders only come around a few thousand times a lifetime.

Wow, Quade, you know you've really messed up when the 7-8-9 hitters are a better bet to be productive than your 1-2-3 guys. Gross.

For the year or for the game? I'd probably bet on 1-2-3 either way but it would be close. Soto being 8th is the only issue I have with this particular lineup.
