But why did this devolve into a discussion solely on jump shooting? The fact that Rondo can run layup drills on teams is a point in his favor, not to his detriment. If he can be an efficient scorer/distributor without being a good jump shooter, who cares?

True....sometimes he even makes some of those layups too.

Rondo is fine...everyone rushing to overrate him the last few years is my only major issue with him. At least now that no one is dumb enough to argue Rondo > or = Rose anymore.

This is a terrible point. Until this season, a Derrick Rose v Rajon Rondo discussion was very valid and hardly dumb, and the rush to overrate players is just part of being a sports fan these days. Let's be real about it too, Rondo has won a championship and last season had an unbelievable run in the playoffs carrying an aged squad to the brink of another ring. He rightly got a lot of love based on that and the fact that he plays in front of a very loyal and obnoxiously vocal fanbase.

I love the over the top F RONDO! movement by Bulls fans because in conjunction with my crazy Rose love it allows me to tap into a meatball fan part of my brain that I haven't been able to do for years and years. That doesn't mean I don't think the Rondo/Celtics hate isn't silly. It is. Rondo is a really good basketball player, but has never had the ceiling that Derrick does and now Derrick actually is part of a team that is better than his, so the weird stat cherry-picking and vitriolic inferiority complexes should probably be dropped harder than a D Rose breakaway dunk on Rondo's head because they're just silly at this point.

I don't like Rondo because I hate how people overrated him. I didn't like the Celtics, I hated that they traded everything away to get the Big 3 in place, and it made me mad that one of the few pieces they held onto turned into an All Star. I hated the Rondo vs. Rose argument because they were 2 different players, and I could see Rose's potential, so whether I was right or wrong, I always thought Rose was the better player.

It's not a "point" as much as it is a breakdown of my dislike for Rondo.

It's pronounced meathead.

Kobe has been guarding Paul for most of the first half (Pretty decently) just got abused on the final play of the half and gave Paul a wide open 3 to end the half.

So we're all just going to casually ignore how good this is?

I fully appreciate the trolling job that imb and ssr are doing in this thread and the Bulls thread....I really do. But this was not a top effort.

If he can be an efficient scorer/distributor without being a good jump shooter, who cares?

Except he's not an efficient scorer at all. He averaged 10.6 points on 9.9 shots this year.

Whoa. I had no idea that Kevin Johnson was Sacramento's mayor.

Sacramento is getting screwed in this trade. The entire team in exchange for Kevin Johnson?

Kevin Love wins NBA Most Improved Player award. He should give it to Kurt Rambis, since the only thing that really changed is that the coach actually decided to play him regularly.

He got 66 of the 116 first-place votes. LaMarcus Aldridge finished second, Dorell Wright third, Derrick Rose fourth.

11 points for Kobe on 3 for 10 shooting.

It was a performance like that that locked up the Finals MVP for him last year.

It wasn't a great performance, but he did have 17 boards, Mr. Simmons.
