Sounds like Barry Hinson to SIU. He's been KU's director of operations the last few years and done a great job. He'll be missed. Maybe Self will give him a low-level sorcerer, 3 briefcases of recruiting cash, and a Helms title banner to help him get started at his new gig.

 

What Kansas senior is he related to?

 

I wonder if Hinson turned down the UI job too.

I like the hire but there's a lot of SIU fans that are pissed off about it. I thought Bruce was going to decline the job for money and his friendship with Lowery, so I wasn't holding out hope for that.

 

At least we'll get back to respectability eventually.

I think Hinson is a pretty decent coach. He got jobbed once or twice at Missouri St. by not getting into the tourney. His career record is pretty good. I hope he does well there.

It's going to be a stark contrast from Lowery where we'll have a coach that the players actually like playing for as well. Hopefully he picked up on a couple of things from Self during his time at KU too.

Oh OK. Yeah, I thought you might have left something out. I think Barnes will have a less productive career than Hansbrough.

 

I think the Barnes pendulum has swung too far in the other direction. I think he'll be a good enough pro.

We didn't. We'd much rather have players like Clint Mann and Eric McKnight.
