If we lose Groce because of the Board of Trustees, I have officially lost all faith in anyone in the administration of the University of Illinois. It's sad how dysfunctional every level of state government is in Illinois.

 

wait, i thought groce had poopypants like the ad

No I said I'd support him, but Thomas had failed in getting a home run hire. Now the BOT is failing. This just keeps getting worse.

No I said I'd support him, but Thomas had failed in getting a home run hire. Now the BOT is failing. This just keeps getting worse.

 

why,in your opinion, is the BOT failing? (it's been reported that it's not the BOT standing in the way, btw)

I'd be thrilled if Shaka took the job, but he's deliberately undermining the candidate for whatever reason. If you're a candidate for a position, and one of your future bosses says you are a "second-tier" candidate, would you still take the job?

i don't see how that's standing in the way of the hire. he doesn't have to be a politician about it.

 

The guy can say whatever he wants to the extent it doesn't run Groce off. Groce will still get hired, and then he can proudly proclaim he fought it.

So apparently the evidence that tipped off the Jamar Samuels investigation was a grocery store receipt that someone found on the floor/in the trash. No wonder Martin wanted to get out of there.

 

They could at least have come up with a story that was believable.
