JUCO player Stan Simpson just committed to Memphis. I saw he was a former UI commit or player. What was the deal with him?

If I remember right, he had problems with the academic side of things and was a bit of a disappointment athletically too.

kid who wouldn't go to class and couldn't get on the floor. he's athletic and defensively skilled. as far as the offensive side goes, i don't think he'll be much of a factor.

ISU gets another transfer: Will Clyburn from Utah, who averaged 17 points and 8 boards a game this year. He'll sit out a year and have one to play.

Transfer University strikes again.

Breaking news, Joe Lunardi is on crack: http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/bracketology

I laughed because I knew exactly what you were talking about so when I opened it all I had to do was see where he had placed them.

I would agree that it is way too high of a projection for them although if it happened the excitement would be huge heading into the big 2012-2013 season.

Is Mike Shaw good enough to beat out Griffey for the 4 spot? His highlight video is pretty impressive: attacks and plays above the rim, good outside shot, and nice vision on his passing. We could use a player like that in the lineup.

I've never been impressed in the action I saw of Griffey. He does have some range on his shot, but he's limited offensively and doesn't bring much on the defensive end. He's also a turnover machine and stone hands. Outside of the Maryland game where he hit 3 3's, I can't recall him doing anything this past year.

it would almost equal the excitement caused by blatant cheating.

i'd love to see them start all freshmen and leonard. or all freshmen and sophomores. but richardson and paul will play a great deal, as will maniscalco.

Although there's an ugly rumor going around that I said we should demote Brandon Paul to Parkland during the season, there's no reason to not want him playing a ton of minutes next year.

Brandon is by far our best player. I hope he's playing a ton of minutes.

Iowa landed the 25 year old felon who served almost 4 years for a robbery he committed when he was 17. It was down to Iowa and Nebraska at the end. Maybe Maryland JUCO basketball completely sucks but he averaged 21, 10 and 5 while shooting 64% from the field as a 6'5, 220 pound wing. The consensus "inside" opinion seems to be that Fran is sure he's going to come in and start at the 3 next year and quite possibly be the leading scorer.

Let the jokes begin...
