Buster Onley is reporting that the Cards will be in hot pursuit of Kevin Millwood. Bring on the pixie dust!

LaRussa was quoted saying they will stay in house and Kyle McClellan will get the 1st look.

Wouldn't this just highlight why the Cards can't afford to pay Pujols? One significant injury and they are screwed with no payroll flexibility.

No team loses a top 5 MLB pitcher without being screwed. You don't not sign Albert Pujols because another player on the team might get hurt.

If he really is out for the year, then we're probably looking at all four of Cubs/Cards/Reds/Brewers as 82-84 win teams headed into the season. This is going to be madness.

Welcom back to 2007. To be honest, I dont think that The Cards were much more than a 82-84 win team to begin with, and this pushes them to more like a 75-79. Any game that Pujols or Holliday miss, may as well chalk up as a loss for them.

Despite what LaRussa says, Im sure that theyre feverishly persuing Milwood, and possibly Fausto Carmona. I mean the only offer Milwood had was a minor league deal with the Yankees who are also desperate for some pitching, so how expensive can he be? Im sure hed sign for 8.25/hour for the priveledge of playing for Dave Duncan and the best fans ever.

Mediocre at best as the division may be, it will also be a competitve and exciting one.

Holy Crap, those are actual tweets from Buzz? Wow, tragic mess? Most loyal fans? Is this guy kidding? He probably threw a party when Prior and Wood went down. Seems like his lips are firmly planted on LaRussa's ass.

I liked the guy who tweeted at him that "TLR's a self aggrandizing jagoff alcoholic, explain why i should feel bad for him"

I was really hoping some people would start hardcore trolling him(I'm looking at you imb), but in the very least he hasn't responded to anyone if they have.

I don't know if it's still out there anywhere, but a few years back Jon Sciambi utterly embarrassed him on the radio, and exposed him as a clown. If you can track it down, it's worth it.

Wow, this makes things really interesting. The Cubs now arguably have the best "Overall" pitching staff adding in bullpen. Rotation stacks up nicely with the Cards and if Greinke is more similar to last season than the season before they stack up to the Brewers as well.

I just got more excited for this season.

Brewers offense is more potent that the Cubs though. I'm just hoping for a regression by the Reds.

As far as I can tell, its not; this entry from FJM (Re: Buzz's unquestioning, childlike awe of TLR) will have to suffice in it's place.

Dusty probably gets something thrown at him from the dugout too. Whether it may help your team indirectly or not, saying it's great news is nothing short of classless. And to me, a manager should be held to higher standards than players to begin with. I'm not even sure Ozzie would have made those remarks.
