Cornelison, appearing Tuesday with Greg Jarrett on WGN-AM 720, said he hasn't been informed whether he will be asked to perform before this Sunday's NFC Championship Game. The Bears aren't confirming reports that American Idol star Lee DeWyze will get the honor.

The one additional cool thing about this game, is that it seems to me that both fanbases are extremely confident in their team's chances on Sunday. I don't think Packers fans are all that fearful of playing the Bears, and I don't think Bears fans are all that scared of playing the Packers. It's not like where one team is clearly a better all around football game, and the other side is praying for a miracle to win. If I goto this game, I'm gonna find a safe spot so that I can survive if things get out of hand between the winning and losing fan bases. There is likely to be a lot of energy and emotion coming from both fanbases.

Although I'm a Bears fan and it slightly hurts us, another cool thing is that the Bears home field advantage will be somewhat negated. I'm gonna guess maybe 70-30 or 75-25 depending on how many Bears fans cave and sell their season tickets. I know a buddy of mine whose dad has seats in the United Club and told me that if he sold his 4 tickets for Sunday, it would pay for 3/4ths of the season. And these have a $300 face value in the regular season.

Isn't selling tickets for more than face value illegal?

Yup

Anyways, I don't think anybody who can afford to spend $1200 per game really needs to recoup season ticket costs.

Favre is going public cheering for the Packers because now that he's retired he realizes he needs to be in good graces with the team he's synonamous with. He's trying to get his number retired and have the fans back on his jock strap. Packers fans being the gullible idiots they are will latch back on and embrace Favre for life once he starts saying the right things about GB again.

Right. This is like Roy rooting for KU to win the championship game a few years ago.

With a few years the feelings will calm down.

Why not? People that have the money to afford them are probably smart enough with their money to know that if you can recoup that much money from selling the tickets to one game, its worth doing. I should mention every season, he goes to maybe 2-3 of the games and gives the rest to his kids and family. He doesn't like to goto the really cold games, but likes being the generous guy who can provide tickets to his family and go to any game he feels like.

I'd call K-Mart a lateral move at best.

Gotta love the fat jokes from you guys. Nobody's smart enough to think of anything else? Get some new material.

(anxiously waits for the next SCATHING fat joke, because, indeed, nobody here IS smart enough to think of anything else)

Yeah.

This is too easy sometimes.

As if they need more...

Anywho, I'm about to make my picks for the week. I'm looking at a Bears-Jets rematch.

That would be a good defensive struggle. I'd have to give the edge to the Bears in that one.

anyone have any luck with tickets? I tried buying just 1 on ticketmaster right when it came up and I still couldn't get one. The number was constantly busy and wasn't able to have any luck on the phone either.

I couldnt get anything on the automated, so I went to a rep...and it took literally 10 minutes to connect to a rep. When she got on, I assumed all were sold out, so I dejectedly asked her if any were left...she searched for 2 minutes and said no sorry...and just as i was about to hang up on her, she said Wait I just saw one pop up. In section 444 for $150, do you want it? I said hell yeah. So she ran through the purchase, and I kept waiting for the call to drop due to AT&T or for her to screw it up and lose the ticket. But it didnt happen. I got it.
